Well I thought Please Not Poll said it perfectly - you go to sites/bloggers/posters with an obvious biased view and then post their views as if they are the unbiased and impartial view of the subject. You did the same on the NHS, posting a post that the laughable claim that the Tory's invest more in the NHS and protect the NHS the most, backup by a claim by... a Tory supporting website!

Whereas all your posts are 100% accurate on this thread aren't they? Especially (picking just 1 point) that public employees have not had a pay rise for 5 years.

It wasn't just that it was a bit of a rabid conservative site, that was just an added bonus! <laugh>
The claims themselves are easily debunked, like the one about the BBC's current political views, using old quotes from people that worked there 30 years ago.
Any source is likely to have some sort of slant. If you can find one that says that the Tories are pro-NHS, then you can find anything, frankly.
The party is staunchly opposed to public ownership of anything. Everyone can see that. New Labour weren't much better, though.

But none of the above takes away from the
Well i work for the Welsh government and we had a pay freeze in 2010 and have had a payrise since until now we've negotiated (thanks to the unions) a 2.5% payrise, our 1st in 5 years. Because we are 'protected' from the Torys by the Welsh government we've been able to get a payrise closer to inflation than English public sector workers who were offered between.5% and 1%.

Like i say i do happen to know something about this. It isnt just some magical world in the civil service where you get payrises every year and earn double everyone else while the 'real people' struggle...

So how does that equate to no payrises? Plus public workers have had their guaranteed inflation pay rises.

As I said 100% accuracy. This whole thread is people picking and choosing their arguments not based on facts, so abusing one poster seems a bit wrong.

I have to agree, there's plenty of cherry picked info in this thread, which always happens when politics is discussed. It was the point I tried to make when I replied to goonercyms post about BBC right wing employees with a handful of left wing employees. To try and say it is only Old Faithful who has a bias is ridiculous.

If anyone says anything which isn't entirely left wing on here they seem to be shouted down and called out as having no morals and eating babies for fun. It's why I've started responding less and mainly picking holes in other people's arguments rather than posting my own. The left seems to be growing more and more militant in the way they deal with anyone who disagrees with them, it's a trend I've noticed elsewhere not just on this thread/forum.

Yeah most people conveniently forget that Labour started the privatisation of the NHS and made the poor choices in regards to PFI which have left the NHS burdened with debt that's difficult to service let alone pay off. Labour had begun ****ing the NHS long before the Tories got into power. But no, it's the big bad Tories that are to blame.

Both as bad as each other.

Umm, I tell you we've had no payrise beween 2010 and 2015 and you ask 'how does that equate to no payrise?'

    seems self evident

I never forgot that the **** that was done under Labour privatizing the NHS but it was hardly started under Labour, but under Thatcher. But the neo-con policies of Blair were shocking - showing in how his popularity dropped dramatically and we were paying the price. But pointing out how the situation is getting worse under the Tories and how much their are privatizing the NHS, under the remit of many ministers who have shares in private healthcare (like Labour ministers under Blair) is hardly absolving New Labour of blame...

Though for your last phrase 'both as bad as each other' if you looked at the Labour's Health Manifesto under Corbyn in comparison to the effects of NHS underfunding under the Tories (where they have split the budget 3 ways - front line NHS, Mental Health and Social Care - slashing the last two). Then you can clearly see that Corbyn has much better plans to reverse privatization in the NHS while the Tory's will accelerate it.

Are you really telling me that I had a pay rise and never noticed, or that everyone else in the Welsh government had a pay rise and never told me about it?

And I'm supposed to disregard all the facts at my disposal just on your say so?

But seeing as you put it across so nicely and were so polite, I suppose yes it must be true that somebody on an Internet forum is right about my pay check, organisation and colleagues...

Funnily enough I'm going to believe the facts and my knowledge then you just insulting me and saying I'm wrong.

Not sure why you live in this weird world where you believe that public sector workers get pay rises every year, live the life of Riley and demand huge amounts of money of the poor tax payer. Maybe it's reading the express and the mail or maybe not, but it ain't true whatever the case..l

Google a bit more and you will see that public sector pay freezes were capped for 3 years from 2010.

Oh and SmirnoffPriest, please tell me where I have insulted you. Apart from pulling you up for lying, if else, please report me to our lefty MOD friends.

There was a 1% pay cap (soz couldn't remember if it was .5% or 1% earlier) on uk government civil servants but the unions negotiated. 2.5% payrise in wales for autumn 2015.
There was a so called pay rise in 2012 but all it was was a small pay rise that was supposed to bring us closer to inflation in 2010 but was delayed for 2 years, so by that time it was well under cost of living ect and didn't account for much, especially when promotion freezes and in work expenses cuts were taken in to consideration

Why do you use a supposedly derogatory term like 'lefty'? And surely all mods will do the same job wont they? So why use the term at all? Though im proud of having left of central views/morals and caring for my fellow man and those weaker than me.

But its insulting to be called a liar when im not one
