I think Team UIR has great potential. Your style of debating is familiar. Lots of tedious waffle in the build up to failing to get your point across.
Could be. I would take them with a pinch mind. The media have this thing about playing sides of against each other and generally making stuff up. The more gullible lap it up and keep them in business.
Have the media reported on United's two losses in a week and how Giggs and the fans brought Powell on for Mata against Wolfsburg and played him up front against Bournemouth? If so someone should sue the media (all of it). I nominate the CEO of Team UIR.
The style was at fault, even yesterday. We looked devoid of ideas going forward. Our general inter-play, creativity is so predictably slow. At 1-1 we should have won that game handsomely. Instead, we dawdled on the ball, stopped, cut back, made the same sideways/backwards passes, then as always switched it to the wings and started crossing the ball in. The lack of any purpose to our passing, the fact our players often dont know who they're passing to until they've taken a touch and looked up, the fact ALL our front line receive the ball with their back to goal, is all about style of football. It's unimaginative. If you saw Aston Villa playing like that you'd have a completely different opinion I reckon. Performance meaning our style of attacking play. I think it's reasonable to expect that for the following 10 games. Note, I'm not saying I expected the same result or even for us to win those 10 games.
Sorry to interrupt this bitchfest with a post about football, but I thought Van Gaal's substitutions yesterday were completely bizarre. Fellaini was your most dangerous player on the day, and what does he do? Hooks him... 3 minutes to go and you're chasing the game, so what does he do? Brings on the gurner in a straight swap at CB.... I found his game management utterly unfathomable. He's been a massive disappointment in the way he's set you up to play such turgid ****e this season. Sure injuries etc, but not bringing in a recognised out and out striker was a massive **** up. Given the resources he's had, I think he's made a dogs breakfast of it personally.
His subs against Wolfsburg were bizarre as well. It's almost like he's trying to show everyone that he's seen something that no one else has. Well, almost no one else!
I remember a couple of threads during the summer where someone on this board was banging on about a 25-30 goal a season CF needing to be brought in. And that very knowledgable yet honourable poster was shouted down by the CEO of Team UIR
Van gaals brought van Gaal on for van gaal so and I commented how strange it was for van Gal to do that. It made no sense and was a terrible call. Van Gaal did the same yesterday, though you don't rate van Gaal so probably felt it was a good move, except for van Gaal, who did nothing when he came on. Thee are concerning of course, van Gaals sub's do leave a lot to be desired at times. Bringing van Gaal on, or starting him wouldn't have changed much, he's so unreliable despite claims from some that van Gaals was the answer on the sumner, which he wasn't.
What position does Van Gaal play? I think he was a midfielder but Van Gaal plays him as a defender or striker these days
Well, I don't think anyone would disagree with the substitutes yesterday. I wanted to smash the TV. Same as Wolfburg game as Stan pointed out. That was fkry!!
Tbf a number of fans were screaming for van Gaal to go off so they can shut up moaning about that sub frankly. They don't consider him a United player so complaining about that is laughable, frankly. It was mad though, Mata should/have gone off (dangerous thing to say) as his contributions was non existent. Van Gaal was fitness related and we didn't have anyone attackers to bring on. And yes, it's his fault for the lack of cover and fire power. Something that need to be addressed in January.
LVG up front would probably have been just as effective as Powell. You'd probably like to see him have a go!
No, some do disagree. Remember the posts? Sone were clearly happybto see our biggest thread go off. They don't accept he's a United player. The issue is around who came on. Mata off v Wolfsburg was mental though, that we all agree on.
Another £50million should do it. It's unfair to expect him to work on anything less than £150million per season.
Who's Powell? I only see van Gaal. 11 of them, 7 on the bench, the manager and the staff. All van Gaal. Am I doing it right?
I'm not alone either. This is fun. No wonder you and treble view it like this. All we need is a theme tune. Anyone able to edit this. Just change children and Canada to van Gaal. I lack the skills to edit video unfortunately.
