Van gaal is going to go down as one of the worst managers in history if he doesn't win anything this season (as it stands I don't see us winning anything). He has spent about £250 million (possibility of spending more in January). The picture is clear for us to see. Chelsea did it they got result, man city did it they got result, but united with lvg decided to spend money and the result is nothing to write home about. Seriously it is really really a clueless manager that will spend over 250 million in 2 years and the team still play like ****. Van gaal is only living on past glory, I don't see any genius in him tbf. We have a good squad but are still one of the teams with lowest goals in the premier league. Van gaal at united = van persie couldn't score Rooney couldn't score Falcao couldn't score Hernandez couldn't score Di Maria became a flop Mata is now regressing Hell even scweinstergger couldn't pass anymore. Something is definitely wrong and van gaal should be sacked asap. Even if we have a young van nisterooy on this team I'm sure he will struggle to score. If we have ronaldo on this team he won't score 20 goals, and most of his goals will be individual goals.
If were only going to get a measley 15 chances per game then we really need to be taking them. van gaal had a fee chances yesterday which were blocked, then he took van Gaal off, who had been our best player (some cheered though). And what was van gaal doing on that first Bournemouth goal? I mean seriously, van Gaal should be doing better. Wasn't impressed vaun Gaal, another invisible performance. Are we allowed to criticise his ****ness yet or will some people get upset, again? The young van Gaals were inconsistent, some good, some bad. This was no surprise as its what happens but van Gaal was probably better that van Gaal but van Gaal faded second half. Great feet by van Gaal though, imagine that resulted in a goal. And at least van Gaal got a few minutes at the end, hopefully he's fit for Norwich.
I think we need to get away from money spent and look at the players bought. Money doesn't equal good football or success but players do. And there have been some quality signings. The best midfield we've had in terms of our squad in at least 5 years.
The Northern sides have had their day. Leeds, United, 'Pool... these are all teams whose glory days are from a by-gone era. It's the London sides who are going to be the new Daddies on the block, in tomorrow's world. Admittedly, Cheslea are probably going to have to drop down a division, and then come back, to join the likes of Spurs and Palace in the "top 4" party, but they will certainly get back there before United do. As your manager said, you United fans have got to get used to the fact that you are no longer a club that can expect to win anything, ever again. You should listen to him, rather than slate him. That's my advice, any way. By all means open a debate with me, but can we keep it clean, please? I don't want any unnecessary wumming. Thanks.
You sound like half the United fans. You will do well here. Welcome aboard Soldier. We've set up a pit of self pity for you to enjoy. Hospitality is key here. Unfortunately the choice of TV channels is somewhat restricted, perhaps a little dull.
Thanks the welcome, UIR. A couple of my cousins are life-long United fans (they originate, as I do, from London, and I am pretty certain that neither of them has even set foot inside Salford, let alone Old Trafford, so they are ideal). Needless to say, I fairly well practiced in helping United fans keep a handle on their delusions. I've been helping Mousers out for several years, now (some of your readers may be interested in my "Mouser Watch" threads, on the Spurs and Prem boards. I'll help out where I can, lads.
Well of he can score and some consider him an insult to United, then why are better players not scoring? These are the questions you have to ask. A limited player can score and make plenty of chances, while a player with 200+ goals can't? Well, isn't that interesting.
I thought it was a tactical master stroke to play Powell up front. OK he looked completely lost but there's no way Eddie Howe was expecting that and it threw him for a full 15 seconds during which he wondered whether he should make a similar tactical master stroke. In the end he just had a good chuckle and wondered whether Martial might be moved to left back.
I'm looking forward to some more Van Gaal magic tactics in the next game, we should have a poll if anyone wants to do it.
The thing is at some point he will play the team and encourage the approach that the vast majority have been begging for. He'll then get a result and the LVG disciples will genuinely believe that they've been proven "right"!
Fellaini and Depay were our best players yesterday, Chief. Fellaini was also our main threat at Wolfsburg.
