Diamé never strikes me as the type who would be well up for a game against bottom of the Championship in **** weather.

Can't say the extended trip was really worth the awful drive. Hung over from a piss-up in Scarboro last night and then watched a very poor win that took a very valuable 3 points. Bolton never looked a threat and I could totally understand Diame holding back - we might be grateful for that against a better side; although Bolton made our attack look pedestrian. Maguire looks fated to hold the CB spot. No Luer, anyone any idea what's happening? Akpom scored, but bloody hell, he defines mediocrity. Diomande looks like he just might click, but Chazz is spot-on that he needs to play off another striker - so that rules out Akpom. The referee was a proper laugh; between him and the weather we didn't do so bad. so move on to Rotherham and keep winning ways going, that's the important thing.

That was atrocious. Diame should just go on holiday he was less than useless and Jake has completely lost it, progressively worse since the international break and is more of an asset to the opposition.

No desire to attack from almost anyone, at one point Elmo won the ball back on the half way line looking to get on the counter, the only people bursting forwards were Robbo and Clucas on the other side of the pitch, Akpom, Diame and Livermore stood still, Meyler was behind the centre halves without so much as a ****ing jog to get up the pitch.

It's just terrible, so horribly negative. I don't care for any stats about who plays where that was atrocious and any other team could have hit double figures past us today.

With the investment this club has seen in the playing squad over the last 3 and a half years, what we hve seen from it is far from good enough. Bruce has proved he's not up to managing a football club, time to look forward and get someone in who can actually do the job.

correct - for instance, just look at where Palace are now and the attacking football they play compared to the utter **** served up by Bruce - he's really got to go - we've got to be the only team in the league that brings all 11 players back for every corner - if he continues like this the squad will be worth **** all

The question now is, how many of the current team are of Premier League Standard?
Apart from Dawson (who appears to be injury prone now) and Robertson (cannot see us retaining him to be honest) we will need an entire new team as the rest will come nowhere near the 'average' mark in the top level.
    Rock and a hard place!

According to the book The Numbers Game, statistically it's more likely the opposition will score from your corner.

    I may never drink again.

As far as I can tell, we won, our fellow challengers didn't fare so well, Snoddy and Dio got a run out, the weather and ref were ****, and we won.

I'm under the impression we're still not Real Madrid or Barcelona, and that we have a core of fans who don't go to watch football, they go for entertainment.

I'm gutted I missed the goal music.

Genius distraction for the online noisy minority that.

Robbo and Clucas were ****ing awful yesterday. How Clucas didnt get hooked I'll never know. Crossing from both were abysmal. Clucas trying to hold the ball in the corner near the end was embarassing. Alan Shearer he isnt, you can knock him over with a feather.

Still we won. Fair play to Bolton. Played in the image of their manager, nasty niggly diving ****ers. Thank **** they hit the post.
Big Shola's still handful and should be one of our five, yes 5, forwards who we can rotate cos of injuries, sulks, bad hair days, frightened to jump with a centre half etc

They were, but at least they showed the desire to get up the pitch and support attacks.

And Robbo was easily one of the best players on the pitch (despite being ****). There was some great play in getting forwards, but as usual his balls into the box were all ****e.

Think Elmo was the only player to have a genuinely good game.

I was amazed Jake had 3 shots yesterday. First one he really didnt want to shoot and it trickled wide. Second one, trickled straight to the keeper. Third one, left peg was blocked. Cant he kick the ball above 3 inches???
Its unbelievable that a player with as much ability as he has wont/cant drive forward and score a ton of goals.

It seems they just try to kick it too hard, it more about the timing of the strike rather then just raw power. Like in golf often the easier you swing the ball goes further as you time the shot better.

Elmo certainly had his best game for a while, but IMO Dave had a good game.

    HCOSC match report.

On a wet, windy and thoroughly miserable day, The Tigers broke down the stubborn resistance of a dogged Bolton Wanderers. In conditions not conducive to attractive football, City emerged one nil winners. City had the best of the early exchanges , and went ahead after eighteen minutes, Akpom firing home after reacting sharply to a goal line clearance. City welcomed back Meyler and Dawson, and rarely looked in trouble in the first half. Meyler was busy in midfield, and City clearly played better with him in the team. The familiar pattern of unconverted chances continued throughout the first half, Clucas narrowly missing from close in after good work from Elmohamady. City went in one nil up at half time, and hopes were high for improvement in the second half.
The second half almost began disastrously, as Bolton hit the post in the forty sixth minute, with McGregor beaten. A let off for the Tigers. City were dangerous on the flanks, and Robertson and Clucas were a constant thorn in Bolton’s side. City missed several chances, a glorious cross from Elmohamady was just missed by Akpom sliding in, and City just couldn’t get the ball in the net. Snodgrass came on for Diame, and looked aggressive and threatening.
On seventy six minutes, City’s new boy Diamande came on for a brief cameo, and nearly scored with his first touch, mistiming a header from Snodgrass’ cross. And then, the thing we feared most. Another injury for Dawson, who looked clearly distressed as he came off. Another case of the dreaded Stevie Bruce injury jinx? This was a hard won victory, in dreadful conditions, with City repeating a worrying trend of failing to convert chances. Is Diamande the man for the job? Time will tell. Snodgrass looks better with each game, but the Dawson injury was the worst aspect of a hard won victory.
    Man of the match; Meyler.
Pie of the day; Pulled pork and barbeque sauce.
Joke of the day; I have never seen so many players falling over and attempting to hoodwink the referee. What would Nat Lofthouse have made of it all? In the end, three hard won points, and on we go.

Robbo wasn't bad, he played very well in the first half, though Clucas did have a mare.

I don't think Clucas was a thorn in anyone's side, he was completely anonymous.

Can't believe Maloney didn't make it on yesterday, such a waste.

I can't believe Meyler got man of the match. Do our fans not vote for who was the best player on the pitch? Or do they vote for the hardest worker?
Everybody pissed and moaned about Huddlestone being too defensive, but Meyler played in exactly the same role and frankly was just as ineffective.
He's just come back from injury so he will get the benefit of the doubt from me, just hope he gets back to his best, otherwise he can join Tom on the bench.
