If Enrique gets a cap while playing for us I thikn we will have a good chance of keeping him, I believe the main reason he wants Champions League football is to get called up for Spain, if he gets noticed and called up then I think he'll stay

Not forgetting the great partnership on the left wing with Jonas.

It would be like taking away a piece of completed puzzle.

    Oh, nice reply. Agree. <ok>

So have you also changed your opinion on Kevin ''Technical ability'' Nolan??? <laugh>

  5. Agreed. I think we should do whatever we can to keep Enrique. The only left-back we could get near his quality is Baines, and he'd cost a fortune.

At least we know he'd earn his wages if offered a handsome deal.

  7. lol, i never said that Nolan was an amazing player or anything, i just thought he was a bit under rated and offered a bit more than just goals and leadership. He's of course not as good as Barton, Cabaye, Tiote and anyone we could now play in the CM position, but i just thought that he got slated a bit too much.

He wasn't snail pace slow, he had average pace, he just looked slow compared to the other players we had in midfield. He could pass well enough, and could create chances from time to time.

Good luck to him at west ham <ok>

We could never sign Baines unfortunately.

  9. Sorry, i was talking about Enrique. I think we should offer him a pay rise <ok> I'm pretty sure he's only on 40k a week atm.

Well with Sol and Nolan off the wage bill we could afford to top up his pay, even if it only kept him here another year or so.

The rumoured contract currently on offer is supposed to be in the region of £60k per week.

He still hasn't signed so it appears he's not that concerned about money.

If it's true then it's above the existing wage cap.

  15. Hardly an outstanding offer though is it? I would have expected something like 70k a week plus 20k bonus for a clean sheet or something. 60k? That's not really that outstanding if we're battling to keep a player.

I think it's too much to be honest.

The club should have stuck to the wage cap.

Don't forget that an added £20k per week amounts to just over £1 million on top of his existing salary.

I don't think he's holding out for cash though. He wants to play CL or at least be in with a better chance to get an international cap with Spain.

Staying with NUFC at present will not get him that.
