Wonderful stuff, thanks for that. I was lucky enough to watch Peter several times in the sixties, awesome. I certainly wouldn't get embroiled in the Green/Buckingham debate - different groups in my mind. I did struggle with the PG splinter group, with others playing his riffs, while he strummed along in a bit of a daze. A little sad, but there you go.
Sadly, Green is just a shadow of his former self, perhaps the most talented British guitarist of that halcyon era and it is undoubtedly music's loss. I used to work with Danny Kirwan's father, a lovely old Scouser called Alec, and he was heartbroken at what had happened to Danny saying that drugs had destroyed the pair of them. That was back in 1982 and at that time Danny was in a Psychiatric Hospital, the Fleetwood Mac group has to be the most jinxed in history...
If they're all like these UTRs, he'd best keep 'em coming The Taste were another group I saw a few times in the sixties, they certainly were happy days. Rory was brilliant.
Nice one. It's so cool to read posts from people who were around during this golden era of music, and educational
And would you believe they even played at the Playboy Mansion, very apt the song is about masturbating...
I'm sure i put this up before, but nevermind. I was a huge fan of Stan Webb, and saw Chicken Shack a few times (look, I didn't have a wife and kids then, ok? ) Great version of a great song.
Not sure, but I doubt it. They were pretty much an Anglo/American bunch by then. Edit: Did I mention Mick Fleetwood was a nob?
