This summer the Yorkshire club has made six signings so far, including players from Blackburn (an ex-Man Utd academy player) and Newcastle. The manager has said he's going all out to win the league. Oh wait, hang on, it's not Leeds, it's York City. C'mon Grayson, man up and show some bloody ambition.
Comparing Leeds Utd with a team 3 divisions below ? What's the point in comparing our situation with that of a non league club ? You might as well compare us with Barcelona.
Blimey, calm down lad I didn't mean to upset you ! Not arguing with the "no ambition" angle but what's the point in comparing us to York City ? Leicester yes, Ipswich I can understand, but comparing us with York is ridiculous.
Jeez as you're clearly hard of thinking I'll spell it out... York are a non-league club with very little money yet they have identified and signed six players already. Point 1: This shows that they have done their scouting early and already found the players they wanted. Point 2: Two of the players they signed were on Premiership squads last year. One came through the Man Utd academy. This shows ambition to get the best players available. I'm not saying they would be good enough for Leeds but if the frigging York manager can convince two guys fresh out of Premiership squads that the team is going places, it's a sign of his charisma and game plan, because it sure as hell won't be down to the wages. Point 3: It isn't a direct comparison, obviously, it's pointing out that our non-league neighbours, who have nothing like the resources of Leeds, are now in pre-season training with their signings, while we are still "looking to sign four players". Point 4: They are all proper signings, people who have committed themselves to the team. Not the emergency loan crap that Grayson gets in each year and will undoubtedly do so again this year because we have signed f*ck all. Is that clear enough for you or do I have to draw a diagram?
Were you recently employed by the News of the World ? How many games did these Premiership players play ? Zero. Many players start off at big clubs and end up plying their trade in the lower leagues, it's hardly the earth-shattering news that your attention-grabbing headline would suggest. Those players are now at York because they are good enough to play for York City, and they've now found their level. Good luck to them, and York, I hope it goes well. Not a direct comparison ? Well, let me just highlight two words in your post that point to it being exactly that - York and Leeds. As I said earlier, I actually agree with you on the lack of ambition shown by the club, I just think comparison with a non-league club smacks of desperation on your part. But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I look forward to seeing your diagram.
It's not about how many players are brought in. I thought we learned from last season that just buying lots of players isn't necessarily going to work. If we've brought in the right players for the 2 or 3 key positions we need them in then I will be happy. Buying 4 centre backs for the sake of spending money and being "ambitious" would be completely useless.
it appears to be reckless if grayson spends owt because he is crap he and pappa smurf should get married----even that wud be on the cheap
