When he says, has to win, he refers to winning the CL, PL etc. He's meaning that due to the massive success, we were expected to win everything. Even then. It was unrealistic to assume and quite disrespectful. He's not referring to individual games.
I think most sane people would expect United, with the resources available and money spent, to qualify from that CL group. I don't think anyone expected them to win the CL. He's trying to cover up his failure.
UTD are expected to win every game, no excuses, thats the mentality every player and manager should have, even if we are not the best team Winners breed winners
I think it was said on BT Sport in the week that not one of the players bought under LVG is better than the player they replaced.....................
It's his feelossofee that players can't come straight back into the team after being injured so McNair plays instead of Jones and Fellaini plays instead of Schneiderlin. The back 4 looks an accident waiting to happen particularly as it's being shielded by Carrick, who can't really run anymore, and Fellaini who basically runs around kicking opponents when he plays that position.
But why say it at all??? The fact he has, shows his loser mentality. I don't care what he believes, he should be saying, this is Manchester United and the performances and our results should meet the expectations of this club. Have some balls ffs. Aim high.
That is literally all he does. Fcking foul after foul, or give the ball away ad infinitum. He couldn't trap a bag of cement.
Because he's saying that people expect too much ie it was too much to expect to get through the CL group or to score a goal at home against West Ham or Newcastle or PSV or Middlesbrough...! He says we can't go back 10 years and compare. Probably best for him that we don't as Fergie was doing a similar rebuild job with virtually no transfer money to spend unless he'd recouped it from player sales.
Anyway, should be interesting. Bournemouth will look at the team and have a quiet chuckle to themselves.
Ah yes ofcourse. Fergie did similar when he arrived. Said something about that Liverpool perch being too high...
Careful, it took Fergie years to win the league! We may be stuck with LVG til 2020/21. He'll have done a £billion by then! In all seriousness, I think LVG would be a better manager without a massive cheque book to play with.
I'm actually looking forward to this. Although I don't necessarily subscribe to the "you score, we score more than you" scenario, it could be a refreshing change from the bollox we've had to endure for the best part of 3 months. I feel quite relieved that circumstances are forcing us to break away from the humdrum of another sideways, backward passing equestrian display.
**** sake. Ref gives a freekock for a fine tackle, that leads to a corner which they score direct from. Ffs
