Not when you've already paid £3 a week or whatever for the licence fee. That's not a bargain - it's robbery.
£1.00 a week living out here is ok for me but I do understand the bad feelings about it. No choice for me.
Still worse is that the BBC has paid for the right to broadcast from the game. The clubs then take that broadcast and charge listeners. It is a bit like adding VAT to Council Tax. And yet there are those in the country who accuse the BBC of being "socialist"!
I understand why it happens. It's to do with sports rights, and the Football League or clubs wouldn't give the BBC access unless they agreed to it, or would want a fee or a higher fee. But it's still a very shady, grubby deal and needs some MP to question it. Interestingly Tower FM are broadcasting live and subject to the same restrictions.
I wonder how the likes of Leicester and Norwich reacted when theirs was first introduced. They (among others) just accept their club having it now.
