I agree. Both Monk and Curtis keeping him out of the squad is telling. I would not be sorry to see him go. Very talented but not consistent enough at this level. Also, I suspect there is quite an ego there. If I were in his shoes I'd be slightly concerned that the England spot is doubtful, especially if he has to start at a new club...which I think will be the case come Jan. Anyway, good to see a mix up of the team a little. Anything from today would be fantastic.
Don't worry about the fact that we haven't got 2 out-and-out wingers in this formation - when a full-back pushes on today, there are two out-and-out defensive midfielders which will fall back in behind the advanced full-backs. Expect to see Cork and Britton popping up at full-back numerous times today. This gives the 4 players ahead of Cork and Britton a free role to not worry about what's behind them, and gives the full-backs confidence that even if they push on, one of the 2 DMs will cover them. It's quite a smart formation. Not one I'd even thought of but great to see something different. Should be interesting to watch and can't wait to see us go on the journey of searching for some balance in this team, even if we don't find it today.
Lashing down here at the Etihad Disappointed Delph isn't partnering Fernandinho in the holding role instead of Yaya who's not too keen on getting stuck in You can have Wilfred back whenever suits
Better than our last 7-8 games. Leon is still class, give Curtis the job. Swansea Way is back already
From what I've seen so far I'd at least take my time finding a new managers . See if you can get something from NBC?.SN
