Come on guys cut out the bickering. I post on here all the time and never ever upset anyone. I am sure you could do the same if you really tried.
Davis will do a good job, in most positions, but when you take him out of the centre, we lose the link between defensive midfield and the attack, plus the defensive midfield loses the cover he gives them. Someone has already said that Mane doesn't give the full back much cover, so moving him into a more central position isn't necessarily going to improve his defensive work rate. Instead of teams exploiting the space in front of the right back, they would now exploit the space through the centre. Would prefer him to play beside/behind Pelle, but not at the loss of Davis through the centre, with the full back giving us the width, RK craves.
Well, my view on team selection and tactics is that I'm going to forget all about them, put the match on TV and watch it unfold. Vin
Splendid idea. I have given up trying to influence either team selection or the way those selected actually play, especially if I'm not at the game.
Or the most defensive midfield 3 in history, VVD, Wanyama and Romeu, with Davis just ahead. More likely to be 3 at the back with wingbacks, could be exciting!
I don't like how defensive we are. We haven't proved we can withstand pressure, especially the type of pressure Palace are capable of inflicting on teams. We have struggled so much on the attacking side recently that I'm afraid I look at that and can only see a goal coming from a set piece of corner, yet again. I hope for the best but I'm worried if we go one behind we won't have a reply at the other end.
