I don't understand why people say Cisse is a **** footballer. He has his ups and downs, but he has the capability of producing some excellent touches and ball control.

I think he was just isolated too often in Pardew's 4-5-1 formations and couldn't do it on his own.

But when he has a partner beside or behind him, and his a bit more space, he's actually a decent footballer. He's much more tidier than Mitrovic and I can understand why McClaren prefers Cisse in certain games.

I agree. I think that spell he had out wide helped that aspect of his game. Probably messed up his goal scoring confidence but he can be a somewhat effective link man.

    He's a good goalscorer.

He's not too hot as a footballer but if his heart is in it and he grafts then he's always worth a game as he's always likely to score. Problem with Pardew was that he played him out of position and crushed his confidence.

Not a great footballer. Had a very very good game against Liverpool. There is a saying about summer and swallows.

Is there anything else you want to try and blame Pardew for? <laugh> Global warming? Your ball sack shrinkage? White dog poo or lack of?

Now that you point it out I haven't seen any white dog poo for years, must be this multicultural thing.

The scientific reason behind it can be found in the match day thread.

I blame Pardew for "pardewing" certain players that have come here. Has he played any offensive player in their right position yet?

He was the one who consistently tried 4-5-1 with Cisse up front by himself, playing long balls and scraping 1-0 home wins with a last minute fluke.

He hasn't Pardewed a single player, its just a myth from fans looking for one person to blame. We haven't bought well enough or supported our managers, and spent money wisely building a football team first and foremost. That is where the issue lies. Pardew did a good job here with the funds he had under very restrictive structures. McClaren has been supported far more and done worse. Nobody is saying he has McClarened anyone. He hasn't but he is more responsible if this board role is for real. Because that would mean he is part of this summer process that mis-spent 50m.

Of course certain players don't work out. He progressed Cisse's game by playing him out wide actually. He forced Cisse to become a better footballer. However he is limited and always has been. He set lofty expectations with his run here early on. He was never going to maintain it. His goal record is decent and always will be because he is a decent goalscorer. We simply haven't had the quality to put up front or around him and he has been injured with knee problems for quite a while.

The only time it really worked well for Cisse is when we had Ba plus an in form fit and focused HBA. Sadly the latter wanted off because we had no intention to progress and match his ambition, and the latter did what he does everywhere, losing the plot/getting fat/being a manchild. We never really replaced that quality to help Cisse. At the end of the day he will never make your team tick or be top class. He will however remain a useful option if you surround him with players who can play. For example had we gone and got Shaqiri, then Cisse would look so much better.

Yeah Pardew is so ****ing bad that's why Crystal Palace got relegated last season and are on the way down even further, oh **** me that didn't happen, sick of this blinkered stupidity, you are more intelligent than that so stop it, as for Pardew he turned it around last season at this point which Tufty won't listening to his latest deluded we are on track bullshit.

He was pretty good last week, some of this hold up play and first touches were sublime. He needs to do it on a more consistent basis though, not just for one game

And we were back to normal yesterday. That's just Cisse, there is still a role for him.
