Wigan Athletic midfielder Charles N'Zogbia to go on strike in attempt to force Roberto Martinez to sell him.

Charles N’Zogbia will go on strike in an attempt to force Wigan Athletic to sell him as his frustration boils over following the rejection of a £9 million bid from Aston Villa.
The relationship between N’Zogbia and the club he did so much to keep in the top flight last season has soured dramatically since he returned form an extended summer break for pre-season training.
N’Zogbia’s impatience has turned into outright animosity, particularly as he feels Wigan Athletic have changed the terms of his exit at the last minute.
The France international claims he had been assured he would be allowed to leave if a club bid £9 million, but Wigan seem to be keen to start a bidding war for a player who has attracted interest from a posse of Premier League managers.
As a result, N’Zogbia will refuse to train, a protest designed to try to show Wigan there is little to be gained by keeping him against his will.
N’Zogbia tried something similar last summer, before accepting he would have to wait another year for a move.
He also refused to play for Joe Kinnear, after the then Newcastle manager called him Charles Insomnia in a television interview, a perceived slight that led to his rapid departure to Wigan.
Aston Villa thought their offer for the in-demand winger, which matched the sum accepted by Wigan chairman Dave Whelan last summer when Alex McLeish was Birmingham manager, would be enough to get N’Zogbia, but they have been told Wigan are looking for nearer £12 million.
N’Zogbia’s wage demands of £60,000-a-week have forced many suitors to wait to see if a stalemate forces him to lower those demands, but Villa, keen for a big signing to appease fans following the sale of Downing and Ashley Young to Manchester United, are at least willing to get close to that figure.

However, Wigan can argue Stewart Downing, another international winger, has just been sold by Villa to Liverpool for £20 million.
“There hasn’t been any change to Charles’ situation; over the last two years he has been a top performer for our club and of course there is interest there for him, “said Wigan manager Roberto Martinez, who turned down the Villa job before it was offered to McLeish.

“However, in football you have to match the valuation of these players and only when that agreement is made can the player then make the decision on his personal future.”

McLeish has responded to the rejected bid with a threat to look elsewhere for Downing’s replacement, which might play into the hands of Steve Bruce and Sunderland. Bruce made N’Zogbia his top target for this window, but is restricted by wage budget constrictions.
It is frustrating for the former Manchester United captain, who has tried and failed to sign N’Zogbia in each of the previous two windows because the asking price was too high, but who cannot move this time because he cannot pay the player’s wages without moving others on first.

Everton and Tottenham may yet decide to enter the running if N’Zogbia’s militancy gets the desired response and Wigan decide to accept £9 million.

    I've heard £50,000, £60,000, £65,000 & £70,000.

Think it's pretty evident that no ****er has an idea and it's sheer speculation.

I will repeat again - SAFC have met the asking price, but will not meet his wage demands.

If he more realistic about his pay, he would have been an SAFC player weeks ago.

I would love to see him at the club and think we really need a wide left player. I had assumed Sessegnon would play there but with him moving more central, I feel N'Zogbia but be a much better option than Steed.

I agree the strike stuff isnt what you want to hear but we bought Kenwyne who did the same, and I believe Sessegnon was on strike when we bought him.

so angry about this because the fact is we have told him he will go at the right price and rejected £9m from villa now i think that he is worth abot £12m and more to us so if they put up the price which is what happens normaly in football negotiations then we will sell him. What is he problem? ALso on a side note do you think villa have told him to do that because there last signing involved stunts from the player as you know very well.

Ba went on strike to force a move to West Ham, and Ben Arfa refused to play to force a move to Newcastle.

The North East seems to be involved in a fair few players like that as of late.

In a backward way, it's really good to see players so determined to make the move, Sess to us and Ben Arfa to you could surely have graced bigger clubs, bu they bought into our clubs and made it happen.

PSG and Marseille were suitably unimpressed mind, if i recall correctly!

Yeah but Sess wanted to join us, and didn't seem like his wages were an issue, whereas this ****er, there is only one issue and it's money, he'll go where-ever pays the most, that's the difference.

I thought sess went on strike because he fell out with his manager, just like zog at the toon, being called insomnia he didnt like.

as for the lad himself, i think he is what we need, a left sided midfielder, with a good left foot, attitude could be a problem, but then i dont usually believe anything i hear in the press, so he may be a decent lad and just had bad publicity.

That isn't ringing any bells at all Rog, you sure it says Johnny? There's a huge amount of tribal stuff about at the minute, that's the kinda stuff you'd generally get a Spanish vocal in, but Johnny?

Has it got loads of trumpet in?
