There's a rumour doing the rounds that Swansea want to speak to Giggs to see if he's potential to be their manager. Not sure he'd take it, not even sure if true, but it might not be a bad bet. Certainly give him some more experience. Not sure it's a good idea for swansea though, they need experience to keep them up I reckon.
They don't need Giggs, they need Big Sam or pulis or Warnock. People who have had experience of relegation fights. If they employ Giggs they are doomed and they won't come back up next season either
Agree on Big Sam or Pulis, but both have a job. No way would they want to employ Warnock though, unlike the other 2 he has a terrible record with teams in the PL. Hes either been sacked or relagated in every season he's managed. He's never steered a team to survival. Giggs may not be the worst choice for them, after all the last 4 managers that Swansea have had have all had very little experience and they all did well for them initially. Martinez, Rodgers, Laudrop and even Monk did well to begin with. So giving the job to someone with little experience wont bother the board to much. I think Giggs record as a player and the fact he's one of Wales best ever players would mean he'd instantly get respect from the players, much like Laudrop did, who was also an inexperienced manager, but a great player
I agree to an extent. Although I wouldn't necessarily say doomed as he might well pull it off, it's just Swansea can't afford to take the risk of going down with the money on offer at the end of this season. Like I say though, if he's good enough they do have the players to get them out of the **** for the right manager. We're he to fail, it tarnishes his chances of getting the big one in a season or two. Then again, does being Swansea manager really prepare you for managing United? Really? Which is what I've said all along. Moyes might be a good shout for the Swans really.
Moyes doesn't want it, said so on the radio this morning. Wouldn't be surprised if he's holding out for the Newcastle job that will invariably come available soon.
Fair enough, I suppose it makes sense geographically even if it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in every other aspect possible.
Yeah the Swansea job is more appealing than the Newcastle one, as atleast the fans actually have realistic expectations there. The Newcastle fans turn on the manager the second they lose a game
I have always thought the same. Newcastle fans are a little more fervent I daresay, their local support is immense, but realistically, they have won jack **** in decades yet always seem to have delusions of grandeur. Swansea's expectation are pretty much, Stay up, get as high in the table as possible, try to sneak the odd Carling or FA cup.
The only massive thing about Newcastle is the size of the myth they are. You'd think they were some super club the way many (their own fans mainly) bang on about them and this so called ethos they have but the simple fact is they've won the sum total of absolutely jack **** for decades and haven't come close to even doing so. They're just an also ran, like a lot of clubs are, not better and no more special than anyone else. They are also owned by a thoroughly distasteful fat bloke.
I think a lot of managers take on the Newcastle job on the basis that if they actually won something they'd be a legend for life! It is of course a pretty big club with a big fan base who have under achieved for a long time. Sleeping giant to an extent. Compared with Swansea who have come from nowhere really.
Giggs should take it. He shouldn't be waiting for the United job. Even the vest have to start somewhere and Swansea isn't a bad club. Make sure hebhas an experienced team, unlike Gary at Valenfia , and he should learn a lot. Giggs should forget about managing United IMO. Gain the skills first.

You should watch their leagues at some point. Two of those sides have zero competitions. But you knew this, but you needed to have a dig, regardless. And you really, really need to learn more about Guardiola because you know **** all about him and its embarrassing. No offence but I for one cannot be arsed with the likes of you whinging like a 5 year old when you realise Pep is almost identical and even more ridged than lvg. You do realise pep has one of the best squads in football in one of the most one sides leagues in football....? Probably not... Bayern fans wanted Pep sacked last season. Just saying, like.

Just saying, like.[/QUOTE] Where in my post do I even imply that Pep is the answer - I simply note that LVG is busy telling fans that European football has changed in the last 10 years and we should not expect to dominate as we did a decade ago. The point I make is that the major footballing institutions in Europe have adapted to that change, we on the other hand have hired a manager whose flossiffy is entrenched in the football of a decade ago - where those other clubs have prospered under fresh new management, we have stagnated - and all because of LVG. So read the post thoroughly before you respond - to use your term - I for one cannot be arsed with the likes of you jumping in criticising people simply because they hold a view that differs from your own.
