Avram hope not. I reckon Bergkamp is more than likely sitting on the same odds as Kaudrup befire he got appointed nice little bet at 8/1

    So many names branded about.

One name not been mentioned and because of this I've just had a fiver on him at 33/1.

    Ryan Giggs.

Swansea City are keen to assess Ryan Giggs’s managerial intentions before making a final decision on the identity of Garry Monk’s successor at the Liberty Stadium, The Independent can reveal.

Giggs, currently acting as Louis van Gaal’s assistant manager atManchester United, has made no secret of his desire to pursue a career in management. The 42-year-old is widely regarded as one of the leading candidates to succeed Van Gaal at Old Trafford when the Dutchman’s contract expires at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

But Swansea are determined to investigate every possible option, and the Welsh club are understood to be ready to speak to Giggs about replacing Monk in the event that the former Wales international is prepared to consider leaving United to begin his managerial career.

Having seen Brendan Rodgers reject the opportunity to return to South Wales to take charge of the club he left in 2012 in order to take charge of Liverpool, Swansea are considering a wide range of candidates to succeed Monk.

The club’s chairman, Huw Jenkins, is open-minded about potential appointments, but the prospect of luring Giggs to Swansea would be regarded as a major coup and would also fit the Jenkins blueprint of hiring emerging coaches who favour attacking football.

That would be a 100% no from me. Knows nothing more than lots of money and big time. For me he is not what we need.

Bergkamp would be like appointing Thierry Henry or Giggs. Nice guys and great players but right now we need a strong man-manager with some PL experience and not a no:2 stepping up.

I am with Boundy on this, didn't cover himself in glory when he took over at Man utd,

There is one in the betting I would take but no chance really and that is Unai Emery of Seville.

Tbh I can't see Giggs at ours, although I'd be over the bloody moon with that. Him with Nicky Butt as his assistant and Paul Scholes as coach would sort out the underperforming pricks in our squad.

Yes, just spotted this one, but never heard of him. (Have you heard of him, Valley <laugh>). Has managed Valencia, Spartak Moscow and currently at Sevilla.

So he's won the Europa League for the last two years then...(was aware that Sevilla had done that but had no idea who their manager was).

any substance in the Marcelo Biesla rumours? I would love us to get him in, just hope he'd stay a bit longer than he did at Marseilles!! Not sure about Avram Grant though, I know he took Ghana to within a penalty-shoot out of victory in the African Cup of Nations earlier this year but he had them playing a pretty dour brand of defensive football.

    Lorca Deportiva 04/05 (Nov 1, 2004) 05/06 (Jun 30, 2006) Manager -

Unai Emery continues to make a name for himself at Sevilla.
The manager who is quite fond of the odd elbow patch or two has seen his hard-working group claw their way back up the La Liga table after the most awful of starts to the 2015/16 campaign.
Prior to the opening day, Emery almost masterminded his first ever victory over Barcelona in 20 attempts.
Trailing 4-1 with half an hour left to play of the European Super Cup, Sevilla made a game of it and at 4-4 with only injury time to play, the Andalusians had the easiest of chances to win the game.
Ultimately Pedro Rodriguez, now at Chelsea, saw the Catalans home in extra time but it would be a defeat avenged within a few weeks however as Sevilla took a lacklustre Barca apart at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
That victory was achieved when almost at the bottom of the pile in Spain and with just five points to their name. Now on 12, Sevilla are just two wins away from fourth spot and are very definitely on an upward trajectory. It was always going to happen because if there’s one thing that Emery isn’t it’s a quitter.
Although never all things to all people, Emery does have man-management ability extraordinaire. Players want to play for him and that is becoming a rarer commodity in this day and age.
If a street-fighting persona is called for, the manager will bring it to the table. Need a more studious and considered approach – ditto.

Any news on a new manager? The longer this drags on the more shambolic the entire week gets.
