I'd back and applaud the FA if they announced tomorrow That England won't take part in another world cup until FIFA is run properly

Although they are my suggestions, they aren't necessarily what I would suggest if you know what I mean. I was just putting things out there. My point being that how can you elect someone to run an organisation if you don't know what that organisation is there for and what it is supposed to deliver.

Even the Blatter lead FIFA did have success in helping lesser footballing nations. Look at how many top footballers are coming out of Africa now.

When a man says there is no corruption after more than one person already found guilty, it just tells me that he has a different understanding to me of corruption. In the end I believe we will here comments such as "i didn't believe that was wrong" or that the money was developing schools in that country. I suggest he's is so wrapped up in his belief that he is some kind of messiah that he now seems himself as above normal law.

Yep. Personally, I think he is splitting hairs. Accusers will say, FIFA is corrupt; which is code for, there are people within FIFA who are corrupt and who corrupt the institution. He says, there are people within FIFA who are corrupt, the institution itself is not corrupt.

So I guess that's a question of degree and interpretation. Is he himself corrupt or has been corrupted.? I can't honestly say. Was he negligent.? Yes, I think he was. Was he incompetent.? Yep, I think I have to lay that on him too. Is he a worthy President at this time.? Absolutely not.

The full extent of FIFA's corruption scandal was laid bare by fresh indictments on Thursday after US justice authorities revealed huge sums destined for disaster relief and development projects were embezzled by senior officials.

The new indictments followed the dawn arrests of two FIFA vice-presidents, Alfredo Hawit of Honduras and Juan Angel Napout of Paraguay, in Zurich and fresh corruption charges against a total of 16 officials for sums totalling 200 million US dollars mostly relating to TV and marketing deals in north, south and central America and the Caribbean.

It is the first official confirmation of allegations that Warner diverted 750,000 US dollars in emergency funds donated by FIFA and the Korean Football Association intended for victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. He is currently fighting extradition from Trinidad to the USA.

Webb, a banker from the Cayman Islands, has pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy, three counts of wire fraud conspiracy and three counts of money laundering conspiracy. As part of his plea, Webb agreed to forfeit more than 6.7million US dollars.

Agree. The worst part is we are likely only at halftime in this fiasco.

Yes, FIFA needs closing and a new body started. This will take some doing as there will be splits and factions that try to go their separate ways.

I turned on the radio this morning to hear that the FBI are investigating Sepp Blatter for his part in corporate bribes from companies wishing to become tournament sponsors.

The global business market is a different world to the one I inhabit. One begins to wonder where the remaining small areas of honesty are.

There aren't any. All sense of moral responsibility went a long time ago in this new thrusting capitalist market led world.

Corruption starts from the top. It spread through FIFA so that honest people either were never employed in senior positions or were soon corrupted. Corrupt people won't tolerate the presence of honest people as they might get exposed or, heaven forfend, even feel bad about themselves. Whilst you get corruption everywhere, it is worse in South America and Africa where it is viewed as the norm.

What I don't understand is why the board added that the ban can't be extended.....unless they mean without further evidence. Are they saying 90 days suspension is enough punishment or are they not fully satisfied with the evidence?

Good, but why say the 90 day ban can't get extended (on Sky). Perhaps there are crossed wires here.

I think the 90 day ban was while investigations go on so they can't ban him further under that basis, if they prove the corruption in that time then of course he will recieve a life ban.

I see it as sort of similar to Police in the UK only having a certain amount of time they can keep a person in custody without either bailing, charging or releasing them.
