isnt it a bit hypocritical of gold and sullivan to blast the previous owners for signing players like dyer and boa morte on big wages, then one of the first signings they make is benni mccarthy, who has to be paid off. this summer kevin nolan has dropped down a league for a 5 year contract on big money, and it seems matty taylor will get a long contract too. do they ever learn?
I agree,except for Nolan. He is in his prime, whereas Big Mac was already a fat waste of space when we signed him.
The benni signing was not Gold and O'Sullivans choice they were backing their manager,Zola's words to the pair of them, was sign Benni and I will do a Carlton Cole with him and I will make sure we stay up! In the end we did stay up,but this had nothing to do with Benni. As for Nolan and Taylor,they are proven premiership players who know each other well and will score a bucket load of goals in this division,when we go back up that extra long contract for the pair of them will be deemed as good business
