ings cant hit the backside of yer ma with a banjo... benteke is quality and would have done the business today
Good lord, that was painful. The pitch didn't do us any favours and is quite dangerous to play on. Good thing is, we didn't exert too much energy and still finished top of the group. Henderson and Coutinho got a run out, and Smith did well. Origi often isolated but is showing signs of holding the ball up well and making good runs off the ball. Firmino showing the right attacking instincts but his touch has been garbage since the City game, and Lallana doesn't really offer much creativity at the best of times. Great to see Can back. We need Lucas back to allow Can to go forward.
Also waiting for Aldo to write an article on Henderson bottling a few 50/50's since he picks up those sorts of things. The tosspot
2 draws and 1 goal gainst Swiss opposition. I thought playing a Swiss side was merely an opportunity to boost your goal tally? #youngboys #intheCLthisseason #7goalspastthem @Gerrezinho @astroturfnaut
I think the last season-and-a-half has shown that Liverpool players really don't care about their goal tallies.
we REALLY missed benteke. this weekend will be fun with benteke against pulis' west brom. get couts on and firmino benched i think we'll see a better outcome. orgy missed3?
Have I been giving that impression? Overall, I'm reasonably happy with the way the team has improved under Klopp, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do over time and with some new signings. However, I really want to see us start playing with some style- a result at any cost is ok once in a while in a crucial game, but if I wanted to watch dour efficiency every week I'd be a Chav supporter. (Up until this season, of course). The job was done, but we need to get into the habit of playing better, more entertaining football - as a rule, not as an exception. We've played one decent game out of the last five and I don't think that really instils confidence in the players or the fans.
