its a shame really because everyone loved that super leeds team, they had everything but imiediately after the great side when revie became england manager what on earth happened why were there no youngsters to bring through its a bit like the qpr great side when we had captain of england gerry francis captain of scotland don masson the great stan bowles etc i think we paid out so much money in wages that we just let all our stars get too old and then we had a leeds united scenario where we we just dropped out,we took a massive gamgle sold some top youth players to raise capital and rebuilt our team
Can happen to any club. Just look at the direction scum are heading in. Endless money being spent by the dutch clown and theyre the worst Ive seen for thirty years thank God. No youth coming through and rest of team made up of clowns being paid ten times their worth. It looks like what goes around may yet come around
EIRELEEDS 1 when i recall that side there were so many superststars its as if johny giles was the forgotten man but who would you say was the very best, who was number one
Hard to say a number 1 in that team of geniuses. Eddie Gray provided the moments of brilliance, Bremner and Giles midfield dynamos, Lorimer thundering finishes, Norman Hunter who broke everything up literally, Paul Madeley an unsung hero who could fit in anywhere on the pitch, Jones and Clarke outstanding strikers. If I was forced to pick one, it would be Billy
yeah you know what eireleeds i had no idea how many goals lorimer did score for you ive checked the wikipedia so that means leeds had three strikers in mick jones allan clarke and peter lorimer all at the same time so that could be one reason why the mighty leeds side was so brilliant,i was watching an old qpr game that season when we came runners up to liverpool and guess what we got ripped to pieces at elland road that season
