I was recently asked by someone in the pub whether or not I had a "bucket list". The bloke in question was very drunk and insisted on explaining to me the concept of a bucket list as a list of things i wanted to do before i die (which i knew already). I thought about it and replied that whilst I dont have a "bucket list" i did have a "**** it list" which, as i explained to him, was a list of things i really ought to do before i die but simply can't be arsed! However, It did get me wondering whether any of us did indeed have a bucket list and thought it may be interesting to find out what they were?
No, not really. There's loads I would like to do, but the thing about Bucket Lists is that you'd never really stop adding stuff to the end of them (much like the list of DIY jobs that the wife makes out). an unfinished list would be something I would likely regret at the end of my life, and the one thing I want to achieve is a life without regrets. That having been said, stuff I'd love to get the chance of doing: 1. A long train journey, like the Trans Siberian Express or something like that. 2. I've never been to Australia, which would be cool even though I really don't like flying... 3. I'd love to tour with a big name band - just to be on the road with them and play in front of some huge audiences would be excellent.
Watching Rangers as a top side in the Premier League would be up there, but alas, I've probably only got another 50 odd years in me. 1) Re-visit Yosemite and climb Half-Dome. 2) Cycle from Paris to London or vice versa. 3) Drive a Ferrari round a track.
These are all realistics objectives and each one sounds pretty cool....................I think I have probably misunderstood the concept of a bucket list as mine comprises things like: 1) kidnap Ian Duncan-Smith, tie him to a chair and force feed him 57 mouthfuls of his own excrement ( one for each £ he claims we can live on as a single, unemployed individual (shortly before he submitted an expense receipt for a £58 breakfast) 2) make Lord Webber walk barefoot over hot coals for 4 hours before giving him the opportunity to register his vote as to which of his testicles I get to crush first between two house bricks ( about the same length of time it took him to fly into the UK from his tax haven to register his vote in the Lords in favour of removing working tax credits from the poorest workers) 3) Setting light to Noel Edmonds etc etc
One is very near work 9 days in the UK each month Catch a 3lb Roach from a river in Dorset Get one of the carp in I keep looking on my French river Buy a house in Corse Canoe with my boys from the garden to the sea Surf in Maroc
1) I've always wanted to catalogue my favourite pails from best to worst. 2) I want to think up a snappy name for the catalogued items from part 1) - the best I've come up with is "Pails into insignificance" but I'm sure there's better.
Where you been Pils - still in hiding after the conspiracy thread!! Have done a lot of great adventures over the years, and have lead a fulfilled life so far, but next adventure I want to do (waiting for kid to grow old enough so we can leave him behind) is visit Machu Pichu in Peru - has been a dream for many years, but parenthood got in the way!
Been tied up with parenthood and work.... .........all the boring sort of stuff! You cant beat a good conspiracy theory though Steel! And thank you also UTR. I think the British record for Roach is a little over 4lb TW so a 3lber would be an amazing catch my friend. You know what sort of weight you looking at for carp in your river? Hungary has the largest I believe at over 100lb! Absolutely love my fishing TW. Pike being my preferred species throughout the year. Do enjoy a little course fishing to break up the season though and tend to focus on wild / canal specimens rather than stocked waters. Happy days!
Perch passed a 40 yard ball from the r/b position to Fer v Reading in the second half at the oppositions end of the centre circle ( Around the 60 minute mark ) I saw it with my own eyes. He bought it down and took out two Reading players.
I made my bucket list about 6 or 7 years ago. Had 5 things on it that I really wanted to do and fortunately, I have done all five. I will probably make another list in a few years and see where we stand then. It is a good way to make sure you do things you really want. To the O.P., make your list and go for it. You only live once.
Bucket list here we go ..................... 1 - Visit England and watch a game at Loftus Road. 2 - Visit East Kirkby, Lincolnshire 630 Squadron base ( where my father flew ) and do a 'taxi' ride in the Avro Lancaster. 3 - Retire. 4 - Repeat number one on a regular basis.
You're right GC, I would like to end poverty and stop all wars. Once I'd done that though, I'd like to go to Australia for an Ashes series.
