Dorrans is a passenger. Last season when we were a pretty dominant force in the champ he could not control games so why AN thinks he may be capable of doing so in the Prem is questionable. I imagine that on reflection AN will hold his hand up and say that we put the wrong team out on Saturday but a manager cannot allow for errors such as Tettey's for the pen and Bassong being about as effective as a traffic cone for the second. That said I don't know why we didn't play O'Neil/Mulumbu and M'Bokani to give us a bit of leadership and presence on the pitch. Given that we were without our captain, our first choice keeper and O'Neil I do feel we lacked a bit of organisation and leadership out on the pitch on Saturday. Not many strong characters in the XI that started the match.
It seems strange that Howson was captain for Leeds, but he never seems to be given that role with us. Tettey did try to organise things, but it's harder for him to get the message up front.
Back to world football matters for a moment, a quick reminder that Panorama is on BBC 1 tonight at 8.30 p.m. and the programme will be on iPlayer afterwards for the benefit of those glued to Everton vs Crystal Palace - to see how many we are going to get tonked by in next weekend's early kick off http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35007626
.......... and all to be broadcast in glorious 4K ultra high definition on BTSport UHD I bet Mr Jake Humphrey is really looking forward to anchoring that programme
So, who'll be first for the bullet, Jose Mourinho or Gary Monk http://footylatest.com/jose-mourinh...k/66578?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
I think Monks right on the brink, unfortunately. I'm sure he would keep them up. I know that's not progressive for them, but still. They have a knack of pulling out a couple of class unknown foreign signings. Could kick on again after Jan.
Ha! Just saw this - usual suspects time! Laudrup??? Give me strength, Daily Mirror! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/next-swansea-manager-odds-contenders-6967454
I can maybe see Moyes. can't see Rodgers going back with his tail between his legs. Laudrup - too much water under the bridge. Villas Boas failed twice in England, too much of a silly risk. Warburton would be a risk, and seems like he has a cushy job at Rangers. I think Moyes (don't know if that would be a good fit for their playing style) or some foreign coach, not mentioned.
Stunning second goal from Wolfsburg - followed by a burst of hysterical when the equaliser for the Manure boys was ruled out for offside!
Just seen this update from Sheff Weds: Michael Turner is nearing a Sheffield Wednesday comeback following a lengthy injury lay-off. The commanding centre-back, on a season long-loan deal from Norwich City, has not featured since October 17 due to a knee problem. But Turner, who has missed Wednesday’s last 10 fixtures, could resume first-team training later this week and may be included in their match-day squad for Saturday’s eagerly-anticipated trip to Cardiff City. Wednesday have missed Turner’s experience, strength in the air and solid positioning. His return boosts Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal’s defensive options going into the hectic festive period. Holy crap, what a transformation - anyone remember our home game last year vs Reading
Good grief! Nigel Clough going back to Burton Albion. Brian McDermott going back to Reading. Any ideas what Glenn Roeder is up to these days.....
HaveIGotNewsForYou @haveigotnews 2m2 minutes ago Louis Van Gaal to recruit junior doctors in desperate attempt to find strikers.
Indeed. If they do pull away, as much as I don't wish any ill to the Swans or their fans, I will be pissed off.
Well done Arsenal. A really tough ask for them tonight, OLY have been tasty, but, good to see them grab a goal. Keeper error though.
I like the Idea. Rio, covering his lips with a weird beard/goaty/stubble. It doesn't work. I can still hear him, and see his curl his top lip up all the time. Still..at least he tried.
I can't believe, that pundits and commentators can't believe, Arsenals injuries..... Have you ever watched an Arsenal Season?! This Crisis is no surprise and it happens every single bloody season!! It must be their training. It must be. Arsenal ruin players! Love it Giroud scored. Arsenal fans always says he's not an "Arsenal" player. he does the business! Also, he was so injured until the ball got played to him, then he's perfectly fit! How often do we see foreign players do that?! Really is pathetic.
I see they're now winning 3-0, so unless Olympiakos can sneak a draw, Arsenal will qualify for the play-offs!!!! Edit - I wonder what the odds are that Arsenal will be playing either Celski or Citeh in the next round.
