I wonder how long it will take for the gratuitous insults to be thrown in Monk's direction, now that he has gone.

Tbh I don't think there will be. I think there'll be an appreciation of what he did last season but with the acknowledgement he was out of his depth this season.
What we cannot lay at Monks feet is his lack of trying as nobody would have wanted to turn our current plight around more than Monk.

Yet there was scant appreciation for Laudrup's achievements, when the team got to 9th place, won the League Cup,and went into Europe.

Are you saying that Laudrup didn't try?

Rest assured,if the team continue to struggle, even under new management, the insults towards Monk will start to flow.

This is a football forum, and it has a history of such behaviour, viz,Martinez,Rodgers,Laudrup, and Sousa, albeit not so much against him.

Unfortunately, Vetch, I suspect that you are correct. Us footsie fans are a fickle bunch....

I reckon that Roberto Di Matteo could be a very good fit for us. Any takers?

No Poyet, no Pascoe and no Di Matteo. I would have taken Di Matteo after Brendan eft but not now. I do like the thought of Bergkamp, would love Klinsman but that wont happen.

Paulo Sousa. Someone that can shore up our defense as like back with Sousa we dont have a goal scorer.

I would love to see Sousa back at the Liberty, but Huw is not going to have it, but I do think we will be in for a Striker come January.......<ok>

I thought Swans play attractive attacking football: Moyes and di Matteo... Something doesn't rhyme...

Would't want Moyes, don't like his football, but Di Matteo's teams play good passing football................<ok>

Moyes style of football is probably better than what's been served up by Monk recently
