Have to say I would snopake out the apostrophe on the mug, which would rather ruin the joke<laugh>

I deliberately misplace apostrophes' just to annoy the punctuation snobs.

Weeks ago, when the Beeb put up the trailer for the latest Sherlock one-off episode, I watched it and didn't react at all. I must have been distracted or something because I have just watched it again and wow, is it going to be great or better still.?

For me, as an old fan of the Conan-Doyle creation [there's that forum handle again], Sherlock Holmes just works best in the 19th and early 20th century. But also for me, the reason why Sherlock has been so good over the past few years is because the new stories [or free reworking of the old stories, if you like] have been very well written, brilliantly acted, and extremely well produced. What excites me about this latest addition to the Moffat and Gatiss penned Holmes is that Benedict Cumberbatch might just turn out to be the best traditional Sherlock Holmes by a country mile. Finally, we might actually see an actor get remarkably close to the character that Conan-Doyle invented. I might also add that Martin Freeman makes a bloody accurate Dr Watson, even in his modern character. He portrays him as the intelligent, brave and loyal companion he really is, rather than a bungler or victim he is often made out to be.

I met an author (M Trow) at a writers conference who wrote a series of humorous books about Inspector Lestrade. He said he did it because he thought he didn't get enough credit in the Sherlock Holmes stories. :) I only read one but enjoyed it.

Looking at news for the South, I see that the Dutch invasion of Southampton shows no signs of a slowdown.

Royal Dutch airline KLM have just signed up with Eastleigh Airport to make 5 flights a day to Schiopol and back.
It's the 4th new airline to sign up in 2015. Eastleigh is turning into the new Hurn as business backs out of Bournemouth.

I am more excited about Aer Lingus flying to Cork. Have had to go to Gatwick since Aer Arran (sp?) stopped flights. I phoned my brother immediately to tell him I could visit more....he contained his excitement well<laugh>

Star Wars Battlefront on the PS4 is just fantastic. The graphics are like nothing I've ever seen before.

My son wants to buy an Xbox one and get rid of his 360. Trying to be a sensible Father, I told him a few weeks ago that he should wait until the New Year. This was partly due to the prices that may be available but mostly because I didn't want him to be focusing on that over Christmas rather than other gifts he'll get.

Then I saw the Star Wars game and regretted my decision!! Too late now though :(
