Do we go for the Europa or not then? Guaranteed CL spot. We could win it and finish top 4, hopefully denying the kloppites CL football. Then drop the trophy like Ramos.
I don't think we will capitulate like last time. There's an incentive for the players as well. Plus any experience in Europe will help the young lads.
Tbf I think moyes wouldn't have been worse than this. Yes with moyes we lacked a game plan, but we could have been better with reinforcements. With lvg, we have a game plan which is to pass the ball around in a boring way (against attacking teams we can't even pass it around, obvious against arsenal and Wolfsburg). But that gameplan ain't working and LVG doesn't know what else to do. As bad as moyes was, we still had some games when we thrashed opponents convincingly, but with LVG, I can't remember the last time we won a game convincingly.
**** sake. Comes to something when Astro has to remind a United fan of something (that's actually true). Hang your head @lostboi And no. Moyes wouldnt have done better. You gave the reason why. No plan.
It was an exciting match wasn't it? Never mind we lost or kicked out of the CL KO stages. At least we attacked and we entertained. Tomorrow we'll have the press lauding United for playing great attacking football, surely.
To be fair Moyes did do better in the CL. He may have been hopelessly out of his depth but he wasn't a coward.
Takes an enormous leap of faith to suggest we can win it but we've got to go for it, yes. It's a significant trophy, might breed a winning mentality and will give some of them European experience, it would be disgusting to just not bother to compete. We'll find out soon enough though, eh? They treated the league cup with scorn, it might well be they do the same with this.
I don't think they did. I think, possibly, that LvG for once, commanded them to attack, and lo and behold.......they shipped 3 goals! Couldn't possibly be what I have been saying for the last 2 years.......could it? Nahhhhhh. They are still better though, according to only two people, LvG and UiR.
To be fair your simplistic view of football is, as usual, wrong. Where you are right is that we shipped 3 goals. Where you're wrong is your implication that we shipped 3 goals because our defence is and has been ****. The defence that played yesterday had never started a game for United before and the third goal was conceded when we were playing without a centre half. The problem isn't the defence, the problem is a manager who makes very bizarre decisions that only UIR tries to understand and support.
