He should be guiding our attacking play, have some strategic approach to effective free-flowing attacking football. Players like Lingard, Depay and Martial need that. Instead the impression is, that he has a conservative approach but has let the players have a bit of freedom to attack. Which equally won't work.
The only reason he let them play tonight was that they were out of the competition if they didnt attack seeing as wolfsburg were ahead for most of the match

I've never been one to call for a manager's sacking, despite my dislike for the gutless attitude Van Gaal has instilled in our players and the club, I've been loathed to call for his head, hoping that events would sort themselves out. But after tonight's performance in the Europa League against such pi55 poor opposition he HAS to go now. We looked clueless. Devoid of any ideas, the players are afraid to play. There simply is NO strategy to our football. One by one every competition, every game, we're surrendering to the opposition.
