OK gents, the final total is £66.74.

Please all have a browse on the internet and post links to any suitable bouquets..

or the other option is for the money to go to one of the lads in Ipswich and say "what can you give me for £66.74..."

Here is a first stab at the wording for the card - please feel free to add your suggestions and amend as you see fit...

    Dear Camilla

We heard recently how you were prepared to go the extra mile to welcome to Portman Road a couple of visitors from Sendai in Japan for the Middlesbrough game shortly following the earthquake. We have learned how they were moved to tears by the warmth extended to them on that day after the ordeal they had faced in the preceeding weeks. Your work is a credit to the fine traditions of our club. Some of us have experienced your hospitality at first hand and others of us were moved to show our appreciation when we heard this very touching story, which made us all feel very proud to be supporters of Ipswich Town.

We hope you will enjoy these flowers in appreciation of the work you do.

    Best wishes,

The Ipswich Town community at not606.com

    <ok>

    <applause> Well done Yorkie!

The wording is spot on with me! I think Rushmere or Tractor Boy Steve know local florists in Ipswich and were happy to get the flowers sorted. Great effort! Makes me proud to be a Townie!

Will do nicely Hamps, well said.

Can organise the delivery from here if you wish mate, good local florist whose quality and value for money is better than the interweb.

    Yorkie just one thing!

When you list our usenames please can you list them in full as "JWM" doesn't have the same ring to it as johnnywarksmoustache.

    Cheers Mate

Not being pedantic but it should read 'to go the extra mile to welcome to Portman Road a couple of visitors'. Remove the 'to' after portman road. And I think it should also read preceeding weeks rather than proceeding weeks as one is past and the other is future.
Other than that it sounds great.

And I'd also like to say well done to everyone on the list for making this happen. We've tried to make many things happen through 606 and this is one of the first that's actually come to fruition. Makes me proud to be a blue.

Will also have to buy a card to go with the flowers. The wording above is certainly not going to fit onto those poxy little ones you get with bouquets!! Will sort that out too if you would like and make sure the wording is typed rather than hand written!

San Diego is right - the to was a relic of some slightly different wording - Warky - wasn't planning to put usernames - it's meaningless to her and I think although not everyone has contributed we are representing everyone - not least Zoomba who started the whole thing off <ok>

Rushmere that sounds excellent, let's give it a couple of days to let people have their say, also might it be an idea for someone to check that she's not on holiday and returning to a bunch of dead flowers in a couple of weeks' time?

Wouldn't it be great if we could get a picture of her being presented with the flowers? Is this something that we can arrange or is it pushing things too far?

It's not something I would be keen on personally, if someone is volunteering to present her with the bouquet by hand and organise it with the club then it's not pushing it but I am quite happy with knowing it will hopefully bring a smile to her face and put a spring in her step. What do others think? Want to do?

Rushmere do you have my email address still? Do you want to email me your details?

Yes Hamps, still have your email address - send a cheque at some point. (I trust you Hamps). Rather than wait for the money to come across, I will get this done when you're all ready to go (rather than delay further).

    Hi guys n gals

Sorry I aint been around in the last week or so, but been doing night shifts, and that just about done my body clock.
Anyway, the wording is fantastic and right on the nail with me.

As I said in an earlier thread, if I can help with the purchase of the "bo" or in the presenting of them (IF WE ARE DOING IT THAT WAY), then let me know. I know Lancs has my email, but inbox me if you require it.

Also could it be Tracotr Boy Steve Getting Slimmer when the wording is done

    Great job all round lads

I hadn't really planned to put the usernames in but maybe it would be a nice touch after all: What are people's thoughts?

    Hampy,
I see you have removed the 'to' I pointed out but are still to change 'proceeding weeks' to 'PRECEEDING weeks'. Unless my english grammar has gone downhill since not living in England for nearly 10 years I believe 'preceeding' is the correct word to use because it is past tense and not pertaining to something in the future as 'proceeding' does. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I also vote for having usernames included, it makes it a little bit more personal for Camilla to see how many people contributed.

Wording done, bouquet decided, only thing left now is that TBSGS has offered to get involved in presenting the bouquet, if this is what we want rather than delivery then I'll get in touch with him via email and get him to try to arrange with the club when this could happen, hopefully without letting on to her, and then when we have a time from him the thing to do then would be to have the bouquet and card ready at your florist for him to pick up.

Personally I think it's unnecessary and potentially messy. What's the consensus on delivery vs presentation?

Firstly well done to you for sorting this out <applause><applause>

I think if TBSGS wants to deliver it then let him do it ( though, is there a possibilty that he thinks he has chance of pulling her ??????)
