Nope all matters this season is staying in the PL. A cup run will only get in the way. If I was AN I'd pretty much play our second team.
Too true, especially bearing in mind the calibre of the opposition - despite them showing poor(ish) form at the moment. Now if we had an easy passage into round four, you know, such as a league 2 outfit, things may be different
Tbh in these games I always rather play a better team who isn't interested such as west Brom in the league cup than a lower league team that's really up for it.
Yes we will, we'll give them Manc's a damn good thrashing! I don't fully get this week side business. Chose a horse for the course, but more than anything use it to work on something for upcoming games. If you feel a play may need a rest or want to try something (e.g. Hasn't Bass been ever present, give him a rest and try Martin/Bennett together) But with 3 strikers at any one time seemingly in line for the starting birth and more midfielders in contention than you can shake a dirty great stick at why does it need to be or will it be weak? You could give Ruddy a chance to bounce back and impress, assuming Declan has held on to the No.1 jersey. say for example it was played tomorrow following our sunday fixture. Would this be greatly weaker than Saturday's line up? Ruddy Whittaker Bennett Martin Olsson Redmond Mulumbu O'Neil Vadis Brady Jerome Defensively you could certainly argue it's weaker, but overall i think there wouldn't be allot in it. Positive mind set and unleash hell! Bah!
I would expect details to be released this week, as tickets for the two away games in January are on sale now
Sorry Canario I was joshing you because you had posted your comment twice by mistake. I agree with your sentiments about the League v Cup scenario, it is a very long time since we had a proper run at the Wembley run and I can't see that changing in the near future.
