Twice in 25 seasons, more like. You finished 3rd in 1989-90, then it was: 10th,15th,8th,15th,7th,8th,10th,14th,11th,10th,12th,9th,10th,14th,9th,5th,5th,11th,8th,4th,5th,4th,5th,6th,5th Selective use of history, and you chastise Liverpool fans for doing the same . . .
.. is a deluded spud a dauphinoise .. a potato with delusions of grandeur? .. hmm methinks I have a new nickname for HIAG
... hmm an alternative reading might be of a small yet evident decline since the last 4th .. wouldn't you say Dauphinoise?
A mathematician might say that the probability is 2 in 25 as the numbers don't lie. i am still making a book on total points difference of Arsenal over Spurs if you wish to differ. spread price is 9 - 10* have a punt as all you have to lose is face as no money is exchanged *prices will vary during season as the points gap widens, for example it was 2 points and is now 4 points.
What those figures show is that we've finished in the top six for the last six seasons. Whereas before we were pretty regularly in mid-table somewhere. So we've improved and held on to that improvement. What we're trying to do now is take the next step up. Realistically, that's going to be very difficult. The clubs above us all have far greater resources, and in the case of City & Chelsea, almost limitless resources. Our only real chance is to build a strong team around a shrewd manager, which I'm starting to believe that we've finally found. And then hope that the likes of City carry on with their collection of expensive mercenaries policy, rather than doing likewise. Looking at the way things stand, Arsenal are the target for both us and Liverpool. City, Utd and Chelsea will be waving their chequebooks at anything and everything in the summer, if not before, in Jan.
I know that things appear different in that parallel dimension of yours, but in reality Spurs have only finished in the top 4 twice, in a quarter of a century.
... I doubt we'll have generated enough income by the end of the season to have 'far greater resouces' ... but you never know ... we are fast becoming the entertainment brand for the EPL
To be fair I can see Leicester qualifying for the Europa league...probably through the fair play points system.
.. tbf .. I can see Spurs going out of the FA Cup in the third round and finishing as the 4th highest London team behind the Arse, Spammers and the Stripey Nigels
Tbf Spurs are nearer points wise to Crystal Palace and West Ham than they are to Arsenal Spurs had a good run in the Mickey Mouse League Cup, as they take it very seriously, but went out to a big club's reserve team
Got to agree, the purple patch may be coming to an end...they have done well though. Can't wait to play them...they got a lucky point against us earlier on..can see them getting smashed by the 'Spuds' come January.
.. that'll be the game where the BEEB gave Riyad Mahrez the MOM award and only a cracking save by Lloris late on from Wes Morgan's header stopped you going home pointless? ... as it was you took all 3 points with a fine 1-1 win (using the Dauphinoise scoring method - bit like the Duckworth-Lewis in cricket but with more starch )
