Gutted. Really underwhelmed. We will make changes and I think with current second string we will struggle, unless The Giants field a seriously weakened team as well.
I felt the same way .. was hoping for a home tie against lower division side and seeing our squad players in action . I'm not a season ticket holder , so being selective ..don't fancy watching Newcastle twice within a couple of weeks , so will opt to spend my pennies on the league game , unless the club significantly reduce the cost of tickets for the cup game ( pigs might fly ) .
A measure of how quickly times have changed ..no excitement at drawing Newcastle at home in the FA Cup .
I think that many of us want a cup run and so wanted lower league opponents in preference to a Premier league side. It will be a tricky tie.
Being a Premier league club I do feel it will still be £20 or so. Good point about the lack of excitement - they are probably just pleased its not Brighton who have knocked them out 2 years in a row!
It's probably an easier game than an away draw against a top half championship club, that would have been worse.
Not on the telly which is no surprise. Mind you BT have still managed to sneek Man U v Sheffield United and Chelsea v Scunthorpe/Orient on.. Magic of the cup eh?
Flores says he'll play a strong side because he knows how much the fans want to compete in this competition. I hope he does, hopefully if we get there we'll get a more exciting tie in the 4th round!
Last season we would have been very happy with the draw as we would have thought we were in with a chance.
If you's knock the bastards out, it will guarantee to make it exactly 60 years without a trophy for 'one of the biggest clubs in Europe'
