Well well what did we learn from Saturdays game Wood can play the lone striker role and likes ball to feet rather than onto his head Bridcut ones he has got match fit will be a good acquisition Taylor is getting fitter and that bodes well Beradi will be welcomed back next game so we can give Wooton a rest Talking of giving players a rest add Mowatt Byram will be leaving in the new year and its likely to be Sunderland in exchange for Bridcut plus cash Adeymi likes his forward role and under the new formation fits in wel Dallas gives 110% Cooper is now our best centre back l Belusci didn't do anything stupid Excellent result should give Evans and his team confidence for Charlton
We learnt nothing from Saturdays game. One game with a fortunate result taken in isolation means absolutely nothing. However the usual frailties were still clearly evident for at least half the match. The second half was just like every other game this season. We created next to nothing and relied on lady luck. Midfield over run again again Silvestri still cant kick in the intended direction Defence run round like headless chickens when under pressure.
You clearly weren't at the game & I'm embarrassed for you that you've posted this. Let's start with Silvestri. Are you aware that there was a force 10 gale blowing, resulting in serious swirling on the field of play? Almost every long ball, not just Silvestri's, deviated unpredictably in the wind. There were a number of embarrassed players from both teams who were humiliated by this - those that struck the passes, and those that thought they were nailed on to be on the receiving end of them. Silvestri probably had his best game of the season. I don't know what it is with you & him. If he was the second coming of Jesus Chrst, you'd complain that he hadn't brushed his shoes properly, whether you could see his feet or not! The second half was not like every other game this season & the midfield was not overrun again. There was honest competition from both teams in very difficult weather conditions. Sometimes they were on top, sometimes we were. Sometimes the weather was. Not once did I hide my head in my hands (as I've done often over the years). Please also remember we were playing a team with some pedigree too. Do you realy expect a walkover every game? I'd stick to dreaming if I was you. "We created next to nothing". 2 goals will do for me. Hardly nothing. Would you prefer if we created 54 chances & converted none? Will you ever be happy? Finally, if that was the defence running round like headless chickens, I hope we see more of it. They were very organised in their headless chickenry & would have achieved a clean sheet if the referee and linesman had not missed such a blatant foul. But that's par for the course with our refs. Even Wootton was disciplined in all that he did & saved an almost certain goal with deft & experienced defending (n excellent CB mode, but that's another discussion).
The first two lines of my post were a statement of fact. Good or bad you can learn nothing from one game. Becasue one game in isolation is meaningless when looking for improvement trends. As long as we dont lose to Charlton we should be finethis season and I will be very relieved. Lose and we are right in the ****e........ But only a dumbass would suggest we are making progress. Then I refer you to the following (highlighted) bit and pose a couple of questions: The second half was just like every other game this season. Exactly how many shots did our goal shy ****ers have in the second half? How many did we score in the SECOND half then? What were the possesion and territory stats for that SECOND half? No point going to games if you are not going to watch em....... We were lucky to win and a draw would have been fair, and if they had taken their guilt edged chance before we scored it might well have been a cricket score... Get some fecking sleep its obvious your attention span and cognetive skills would improve..... Now start playing nice, I am quite looking forward to Friday........
I never even mentioned your first 2 lines, nor did I mention that we were making progress! Second half? We weren't as dominant. It was more of an even combat situation. Which is what I expected for the full 90 mins. Was that because we were good in the 1st half, or Hull were poor? Probably a bit of both, tbh. Second half, yes, they did have chances, but had to foul to get a goal. Was it not in the second half that Cook should have got a penalty? I was pleased with what I saw. It wasn't pretty, but it was effective. Will we repeat our performance next game? Gawd knows! I'm afraid I didn't take time to note any stats down, so can't comment on the stats. I watched a satisfying game with a great result. Happy bunny. Let me be very clear though - we deserved our win. It would have been an injustice if we drew or lost.
No Byram is at least 5 years younger than Bridcutt so has a saleable value .Bridcutt is probably on 20k+a week sp definitely NO
Ok, had you asked me the same question I would say yes. If you had asked me the same question 2 years ago I would have said no!
I would have said they were both worth the same value, Byram is going to be out of contract in July, if it goes to a tribunal we might get very little. That value around 1.5m?
I can but see Ristac's reply to me, loss of form for Byram and months left on his contract make him worth a lot less than he was 2 years ago
Totally agree. Shame on the Byram front but I would actually be quite satisfied if we got Bridcutt in return (based on the times I saw him at Brighton & the fact Poyet was so keen to take him with him not what he did on Saturday).
Poyet was also keen to take Buckley as well and look whats happened to him.I really rated this lad he has just lost his way
Byram is 21 on 12k a week Bridcut is 26 hardly kicked a ball a year and probably on 20k+ how can they be equal no we will wait and see again but my heart tells me we will get cash as well
Hope you are right and on your other point, real shame about Buckley too, I thought we had a gem there and would definitely end up buying him - shows what I know!!
