    Im sure no one on this board has heard of this fella. I hadnt until a few moments ago.

    Ernie Crouch was 90 years old and a lifetime supporter of Arsenal. Been watching them since 1934. Home and away.

    Sadly on Saturday, Ernie was on his way to the Emirates to watch his beloved Gunners take on the black cats. But due to the storms a high gust of wind sadly blew Ernie into a bus in a freak accident.

    He never recovered and passed away.

    Another sad loss.

    Shame to go like that, but good on the old lad for his support of the club. It's just a shame that he did not keep a journal about watching football for all those years.

    RIP to a real Gunner.

    It was just one of those stories that caught my attention.

    In a time of war, hunger etc around the world. Just a reminder. Mother nature can be a nasty whore.

    Apparently someone he knew realised a big gust was about to knock him sideways and shouted 'Ernie, crouch'.

    Seems he turned round to see who it was and was blown away.

    RIP Ernie, it was inevitable.

    It is. And when i break this thread down, the people who have responded to it, are near enough on the button as to i thought would have.

    I found this story really sad. And as Nostalgic put it. I hope he kept some kind of diary. I dont give a **** he was a gunner. His accounts are much bettet than some spread sheet in a local rag.

    I may argue, with most. I may piss a lot of people off. I am for sure an obnoxious twat.

    But i like my history. And what may seem to most is another old fella dying, to me its history, taken by mother nature. We accept that.

    A freak accident, that in all honestly, i take more interest in than some nutter stabbing someone on a tube.

    <ok>

    It's not for bites mate, it's just my way of dealing with death ..... you may not realise I'm an orphan.

    To be fair I did murder both of my parents but the fact remains.
