It was Norman..Billy's public disagreement was with Keegan in the charity shield. Well it was for a good cause.
Would have been amusing if it was our Norman too - Franny Lee looked like a feisty little so an so when NH got him going!
I think you'd have been ok... For all the hard man rep, and his liking of a two footed late tackle from behind, I don't think Norman was much of a street fighter. Pint sized franny looked to be getting the better of it!
Whatever area you played in or come from, the 3 players who played in middle were known as the midfield, the middle players and/or half backs. Individual positions were named as they still are today. Today, the players who play in middle, be they part of a 3,4 or 5 midfield formation are known as the midfield or the mids. Taken from wiki. The following formations are used in modern football. The formations are flexible allowing tailoring to the needs of a team, as well as to the players available. Variations of any given formation include changes in positioning of players, as well as replacement of a traditional defender by a sweeper. 4–4–2[edit] This formation was the most common in football in the 1990s and early 2000s, so well known that it inspired the title of the magazine FourFourTwo. The midfielders are required to work hard to support both the defence and the attack: typically one of the central midfielders is expected to go upfield as often as possible to support the forward pair, while the other will play a "holding role", shielding the defence; the two wide midfield players must move up the flanks to the goal line in attacks and yet also protect the full-backs.[8][9] On the European level, the major example of a team using a 4–4–2 formation was Milan, trained by Arrigo Sacchi and later Fabio Capello, which won three European Cups, two Intercontinental Cups, and three UEFA Super Cups between 1988 and 1995.[10] Under Milan's example, it became very popular in Italy in the late 1980s and early 1990s. More recently, commentators have noted that at the highest level, the 4–4–2 is being phased out in favour of formations such as the 4–2–3–1.[11] In 2010, none of the winners of the Spanish, English and Italian leagues, nor the Champions League, relied on the 4–4–2. Following England's elimination at the 2010 World Cup by a 4–2–3–1 Germany side, England National Team coach Fabio Capello (who was notably successful with the 4–4–2 at Milan in the 1990s) was criticised for playing an "increasingly outdated" 4–4–2 formation.[12] However, the 4-4-2 is still regarded as the best formation to protect the whole width of the field, having recently contributed to Diego Simeone's Atlético Madrid victory in 2013-14 La Liga against the technically more endowed Barcelona and Real Madrid sides, having been also adopted by Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid during the same season, in which they won the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League against Atlético Madrid. Also, "4-4-2 came to prominence in European football with A.C. Milan under legendary football manager Arrigo Sacchi. Milan utilized this formation to win three European Cups, two Intercontinental Cups, and three UEFA Super Cups between 1988 and 1995".
Yawn - just yawn. Now, if you tell me you are Lithuanian learning English through Wikipedia and Radio Leeds I will warm to you. If not, question those meds fella - you are just odd
I'm only odd cos you want me to be odd in the eyes of others to justify your previous false claims, it must be continual mental torture for you,
So luvr, what formation did Leeds play in the 60's and 70's... With Norman and Jack etc patrolling the midfield. Must have been a bit congested in there... Or were billy and Johnny playing as centre forwards? Can't have been left with much of a defence, wonder how we didn't concede more goals. That was probably down to the goal keeper.... Peter lorimer eh, What a safe pair of hands he was. That's how he got his nickname, shot-stop lorimer.
The ONLY claim I ever made was that you don't go to matches. You denied it and smugly said I had no proof. Subsequently you tripped over and now everyone knows you don't go. I don't care who goes and who doesn't. My only mental torture is reading the dirge you come out with but I can easily skip that but I can't abide liars, much less so sad ones who use the Internet to make themselves out to be something they are not.
sometimes its just best to say you made a mistake instead of batting on trying to beat everyone else into submission...
