Well I know this may be an obvious, but signings are definitely required in the jan window, but this is probably the most important window ever in City's lifetime! I am sorry if people disagree, but I don't want SC gone, I think he was let down by powers that be in the summer and has to make do now until January comes. I said when everyone was calling for GJ's head, to be careful what you wish for ( sorry to bring GJ up again), and the same could happen again with SC's dismissal IMO. But moving on who and where do we think are the most important places to sort? How hard do you think it will be to pull in top quality players to our club with its profile but more its league position? I think IF we can a quality big/strong experienced striker, and high energy creative midfielder and a leader in defence................easy innit?
Kevin Nolan and we don't even need to wait for January for him. Another forward to work alongside Kodjia
We need a new goal keeper, new central defender, new midfielder, and new striker just start with. The whole first team requires new players in every position.
It would appear that we need more new players at this point than we did just after the season when we lost to Hull at Wembley. Talk about going backwards.
Defo in the centre of midfield we need some creativity, possibly 2 starting eleven signings. Smith marshalls well but rarely gers forward. Freeman is clearly a very very good L1 player, but has been nothing above average a level up, and Pack is a headless chicken at this level. Reid is hard to call, although he did well early in the season, and Joe Bryan has just gone right off the boil. Only Bennett on loan from Norwich has looked of any real quality of the midfield/wing back 5 this season. The goals have really dried up for City this past month, and that must be a concern. I thnink Kodija is a very good player, but with poor to no service he will not flourish.
We need to have a backed manager come January whether it is SC or another. Holding striker, creative midfielder, right back, centre back, left midfielder and a right midfielder for when Bennet goes back from his emergency loan.
Fully agree with those comments about midfield. It is our weak area right now. We need someone who can unlock defences like Wade Elliott did and going back, Hartley. Smith is too defensive, his career goals tally of 5 shows that. Bryan, I am sure is a confidence thing and Freemans dependence on his left foot has been cruelly exposed at this level.Midfield, for me, is where a game is won or lost.
Wade Elliott walked past me yesterday I was so tempted to ask him to get his boots on and sort it out. I feel this is the area that should of been addressed as soon as his playing career was ended with us.
