50k per week is £2.6m a year...why go somewhere where you are unlikely to play much for money reasons when you earn that much per year? I honestly do not get it. If he'd gone to to a team where he would be first choice and who were in CL I'd have got it but he was never going to be 1st choice at city...and his reputation is dropping as quickly as his bank account is growing!
When he went there they had Aguero, Dzeko, and Jovetic already. So, I can't believe he didn't know what the score was when he signed for them. He's had very little game total game time since he joined City.
Well at 100k pw plus 20k per appearance, assuming he plays some part in about 30-35 games a season (since signing for city he has made 28 apps in less than one full season), he would be earning approximately £6m a year depending on appearances. If he stays at the club for four years that's £24million vs £10.4million if he had stayed put. It would take ten years at Swansea for him to earn the same as a four year contract at City. That's a large difference in earnings. Footballers often only have short careers earning large amounts and when the chance is there for a mega contract you might not get that opportunity again. On top of the huge difference in his financial position he will also have a real opportunity to win trophies and get the opportunity to play in the CL against the best teams in Europe. Even if he is a bit part player it's a huge step up for his career and a chance to win something. Even if his individual reputation falls he could achieve and earn more while at City in a few years than he potentially would in the rest of his career if he didn't take the chance. And when he ends up leaving, even if he can't find a club in England he'll get chances to play regularly if he drops down to a lower quality league and enjoy being picked every week. I'd say it's pretty understandable why he'd give it a go even with the risk of it not working out or not getting to play as much as he'd want.
he diddnt have any of these "title hopes" you speak of, in fact when asked about the title he scoffed at the talk from the media but dont let that stop ya talking ****e ps, klopp wernt in charge last year, just so ya know
... I'm getting very worried about our forthcoming fixtures against the 'big clubs' ... we've been a bit lucky so far ... coming up against Newcastle when they were sadly out of form whilst poor old Liverpool played them whilst they were on the back of a tremendous run ... similarly winning by a 3 goal margin at Swansea whilst Man United were unlucky to play them with both Ayew and Gomis in the team ... coming back from 2-0 down at Stoke just like Man City did ... scoring 3 against West Brom whilst winning at their place just like Spurs and Arsenal beating Palace just like Liverpool and Chelsea ... it does not bode well for the coming fixtures does it? ... we'll soon be put soundly in our rightful place ... .. humour aside for a moment it will be an interesting test to see just how good we are over the next 4 fixtures ... can't complain so far ... particularly as we are a 2 man team y'know?...
well yes, unless you have managed to finish above arsenal and ive missed it at some point in the last 10 years please do correct me?
I don't remember talking about us and the Goons? It's about a Merseyside power shift, we're in Lahdan!
i assumed you were talking about the great imaginary norf landhan power shift you speak of weekly? there is no power shift thats my point, for you or everton unless of course you have managed to finish above the gooners in the last 10/20 odd years then ok if not then why bleat about it all the time?
Think you've mistaken me for somebody else? Please show me where I've claimed some sort of power shift. We are, however, close to Arsenal right now. We don't have their squad depth, but we outplayed them at their own place recently and should have taken 3 points. Our main aim is to finish top four, if we get ahead of the Goons too, great, that's a bonus. Everton are well managed and have some excellent players. They will be a real threat to you if they can hold on to their star players.
Everton have a better first XI than Liverpool but the Dippers have a better squad which is no surprise given how much money they've spent on accumulating a mid table side.
