The problem is Benteke. He is a good player but when he is not pressing or running channels then the midfield are left with no choice but to pass sideways For 32 million he does have an awful touch. Problem is I struggle to see how he fits in klopps team. The better results and performances have come when he is not playing I hope he proves me wrong because he currently looks like a 32 million pound supersub
Firmino has been poor but bar lumping long balls and crosses, how do you create for Benteke? As I've said before, he may score the odd goal now and again but at what cost to the team - we've scored 6 goals as a team from 9 starts when Benteke starts.
Yes - both are not good enough. Can has been carrying Lucas this season while Lucas gets the plaudits. Do you not see this?
Nope. Lucas as been great, he's having a off day today. It's just one of the many players you don't like so you're jumping on it.
I was hoping he would play with a partner today giving us his presence and movement, the formation doesn't suit him and the 3 forward are all too far away from each other. Benteke has been poor but everyone needs to up their game.
Did the team think they just had to turn up (being title challengers ) to win? No effort, no passion, no energy. The 2nd half must surely get better!
