Clearly Klopp is hoping the starters can do the job, but has firepower on the bench if needed. It's been a long time since we have been able to say that.
interesting to see how we line up with that 11 - diamond again with Ibe or Firm joining Benteke up front ?
Stong bench that doesn't include the likes of Can, Sahko and Coutinho... Need to start well... can't give Newcastle any encouragement!
Allen's been alright lately, so not all bad news that he's playing, just that at least with Can there's the potential of a forward break or some form of creativity. Can only presume Sturridge's having his time managed to ease him back into the fold; I'm fine with that. He's on the bench if we need. Milner, Moreno and Clyne can supply for Benteke. Ibe and Firmino hopefully have enough creativity between them to pick Newcastle apart. Normally, you'd assume this was a given win looking at our form versus theirs, but we have had a habbit in recent years of having top performances against the big teams then folding against a weaker opposition. Hopefully that's out the system now and Palace was the only blip. 1-3 winners, Benteke 2 and Firmino 1. Lovren own goal
Looking ahead next couple of weeks could be the time to catch up on the points we're behind. Next week I expect all teams to win, Leicester v Chelsea could be the only game that is an upset with Chelsea winning so we need to win to stay in touch. Week after is the good week for us.. Leicester away to Everton could be tricky, Spurs away to Saints similarly tricky.. Arsenal v City means one or both will drop points - could be our chance to close the gap a bit. Week after (boxing day), United away to Stoke could be points dropped, Arsenal away to Saints and we are home to Leicester so again another good chance.
As we are already through in EL I thought he;d start him today and then leave him our the squad for Thursday
Easing someone back into the team doesn't mean he can necessarily start two games in a week just because you're then planning to rest him next week
