Wijnaldum is gonna end up being wasted just like Gouffran

Both are the same. Both came from different leagues as attacking mid/strikers, both scored regularly for their old clubs.

We turn them into LM's and slowly they lose their scoring touch and go anonymous.

The fact that Gouffran got so much stick for being a **** CDM against City is a disgrace!

HE'S NOT A ****ING CDM, LM OR CM.

We cannot just demand players play out of position and wonder why they don't play well!

Yoan Gouffran suffered from having work ethic, Pardew saw that and stuck him wide to support the full back. Gini is suffering from the complete wrong environment for a good player to show his skills to the world. Hopefully Gini doesn't have to wait for a move to show what sort of player he is.

Whilst I agree that we should be playing them both in their actual positions. I think there is big difference in the quality of both players. Gini will come good, he has already scored 6 goals in a struggling team. Gouffran scored the same amount of goals over the course of a full season in 13-14 when we had a much better team.

Don't know how people can say Gouffran's been turned into a **** player. He's always been a **** player.

When was the last time we actually had a ****ing winger? Ben Arfa, before that, Routledge. Before that, Robert et al (don't even call Gutierrez one, please). We chase them out of the club and then put someone there who has never played winger in the history of their lives, ie Sissoko, Wij, I think I've seen Anita out there at some point. Even players who presumably have been bought to address this egregious wrong, like Cabella and Thauvin, have played better previously from central positions. But no, let's shove them on a touchline because it says they can play RM on football manager. <doh>

How are you supposed to play with width with no wingers? You can't. So we have to play narrow. Do we play narrow? Not really. We stick players out wide who can't play out wide and then wonder why we get absolutely smashed by teams with pace.

As much as this is largely a problem created by Mike Ashley's abysmal transfer policy, Steve McLaren is exacerbating the problem. Wrong manager for this regime, plain and simple.

Also, it's obvious that Gouffran and Wijnaldum are a million miles apart in quality/talent.

He scored 6 goals and 5/6 assists in his first season, and was an incredibly hard working player, and many people's player of the season that year.

He's been played out of position and lost his touch.

Gouffran is ****e. Gini has quality. He is versatile too. I can't see a problem.

I'd like to Gini in the middle, Siem has his moments yesterday but my front four would be

    Mitro/Cisse

    Perez Gini Moussa

Let Perez play on the wing, he can cut in and will give most rb's a torrid time, allowing Gini to play in his natural position and get in the box more.
