Match going fans pfft what do they know. And what good does it do. Nothing. Play behind closed gates that's what I say! (sarcasm in case it's lost on anyone and later claimed to be something I was actually advocating)
The frustrating thing is it fell in his lap today and he was still too much of a coward to seize the opportunity to get the fans onside. He didn't have to make the big decision and drop Rooney as he was injured. Mata at 10, Depay and Lingard or Young on the wings, Martial up top. A front 4 that would cause a depleted West Ham problems. But he went with Fellaini so we could even more cumbersome than we are with Rooney in the team. Giggs must just be killing time waiting for the top job.
#bookmarked this post when you made it knowing it was #deadmoney At least it didn't cost you because of Bayern but honestly WTF were you thinking?
Can you guys quit the use of coward to describe the manager? If he really is a coward, what does that make players on the pitch today that had twenty one shots on goal but only a single one on target? When do are you going to start holding the players accountable? LVG's fault is that he did not straighten out striking options when he had a chance. But then again, we were too busy chasing Neymar.
Why is it after every match this is somehow considered a one-off? Newcastle Swansea PSV home PSV away Arsenal City Middlesborough Palace Leicester West Ham That's just in 3 months this season. Not to mention the fact we only managed to win 1 of our last 6 PL games at the end of last season. All shows the guy doesnt instill ambition but plays it safe. At some point you have to stop making excuses for our pi55 poor performances, the team selections, substitutions, predictably dire football, and realise this is not some surprise, one off game where the players fcked up and that explains it all. It's been a good 16 or so games stretching back to the end of last season and the manager is responsible.
Please explain who the three defensive midfields were. I surely haven't seen Bastian playing as defensive midfielder lately. If anything, he has been one of our more lively midfielders. Heck, the defensive pig also happens to be our last goal scorer. Like I said, there were 21 shots today. Explain how that came from cowardice approach. I'm all down for analyzing a match. But if every analysis boils down to simpleton statements, it defeats the point of discussing the game. We need a right winger and a solid 30 goal striker. That way Martial it's relieved of the pressure up front. I think he was very unlucky today.
You're right, we were aces yesterday. Playing Fellaini at 10 and Mata on the wing was the solution to our right winger problem. It was the players what ****ed it up.
To be honest only one shot was on target. You could have 100 Darmian 30 yard crowd spankers but it wouldn't mean you played well. I like your optimism cytrax, but the reality is your manager is seriously holding back what could potentially be a good attacking team.
If 1 year on we're still playing Fellaini as a number 10 (out of choice not necessity) against West Ham, at home, then how has our manager moved the team forward? From what I've been told of the game, it was the same unimaginative sh1te for 60 minutes followed by some desire to actually play in the last half hour, with Depay thrown on in the last 15 mins only to show why he should've started in the first place.
This is the point isn't it, that there is no evidence whatsoever of progress. Of this so called philosophy. Because surely the philosophy isn't this gash? Surely. He did well last season, even though we rather pathetically tailed off and just scraped fourth instead of nailing it like we should have (alarm bells ringing everywhere). But what's the point of getting fourth if we then don't make the knock our stages of the CL or even attain at least fourth again the next season? There isn't one. Waste of time. Right now we're going backwards. With the money he's spent and players he's bought he shouldn't need three ****ing years to get it right.
If he took the handbrake off we'd stand a chance of winning this league as the other challengers are gash. As it is we've already dropped too many silly points and given all opponents too much confidence that they can take something off us. Piss poor management.
I'm actually not making excuses for the manager. However, I am holding the whole team accountable. They all need a good look at themselves and if they ask if they've done enough over the past three months, the answer is an absolute NO! Heck, ex-players are even excusing the likes of Rooney and blame the manager for the player's ineptness. That's like blaming Mourinho for Costa's ****show this season. This is where psychology comes in play. The situation has now started living inside the players' heads. The same disease that is plaguing Chelsea is now firmly at United. Are the managers responsible for this? Absolutely! But my point is that if every game, all that we characterize it as is "cowardice manager" then they players get a pass. As far as I'm concerned, the players in the final third are pissfkers!!! As for Depay; you're using a rear view mirror to suggest that he should have come on sooner when too often this season he has offered frustrating plays. To close this off; I just read that the board would back LVG by not going for Pep. I think that's the dumbest thing they could do. Pep is without a doubt the best manager out there and we want to hand him to City. If we want to really talk about cowards, the whole organization has plenty of them. From ex players, to manager, to players and the board. Lack of accountability is rife at the club.
Only one person made the decision to play Fellaini at 10 yesterday when he had a free pass to pick an attacking team. He decided to play negatively at home to a depleted West Ham. But we kept a clean sheet so mission accomplished!
