Well if AN masterminds a point at Citeh today I'd give him 'til Christmas before pulling the trigger :emoticon-0105-wink:

Notwithstanding that it was a creditable performance yesterday, the fact that we couldn't hold on for 5 minutes after scoring to get a point has well and truly irked me. We now go into November on the back of 5 defeats if you include the Everton game with a realistic chance of losing the next three. That would be a sequence of 8 losses, the fans would then start to get restless and Mcnally would then have to make a very hard decision.

I see it very differently KIO. Like most, I expected a humiliating defeat yesterday and was hugely impressed by AN's tactics and the discipline with which the players applied them. Yes, it was gutting that we conceded so close to the end, but Ruddy had done well up until then and we wouldn't have scored if Hart hadn't made a similar mistake. It isn't just about results for me, it's more about the performance and the hard work AN put in to come up with that formation and sell it to the players. For me, the Everton game was a draw for 120 minutes. There's still a long way to go.

Spot on Rick and I would hate to see us swap managers or even think about it seriously for this season. It wasn't long ago that we were bothered in case he was pinched by another club. Did someone say fickle? <laugh>

I think people need to bear in mind that in their last two home games in The Premiership Citeh scored 11 goals against Newcastle and Bournemouth.

1 win in 10, 6 defeats in 8 with Everton, Manure and Spudz next. I can only see that being 9 defeats in 11 games after today's abysmal performance. We've now resorted to hoofing the ball forward with no real purpose and regardless as to what has been said before, if we enter January with that record and a Cup exit to boot, Alex Neil's position will become virtually untenable. The Rooky is being found out and perhaps it might be better all round if we look for a more experienced head starting tonight. It is absolutely imperative we stay up and I don't think Mr Neil has the tactical nous to acheive that feat <steam>

I still don't think he will be given the push, not that I want him to. If we go down, we go down and if he cannot get us back up, then it's perhaps time for him to do the honourable thing.

I agree with Thai. He's proven he can get us out of the championship, let him have another shot at it if needs be. Is there really a manager on the market right now we'd want? The cost in changing manager is significant too, and I think that'd be better spent on improving our playing staff. Individual performances let him down today, I don't think the tactics he sent them out with were wrong.

Excellent post DH. It sounded as though no one played particularly well and we just need to regroup and move on.

I think we need to remember how well we played in the previous 4 matches, including that excellent draw against Arsenal last week. One poor performance doesn't mean ousting the manager for me. We need a big response against Everton though.
