Maxi and Mereiles are excellent players. As is Joe Cole and even Poulsen, who just got off to a bad start. This is what I don't understand about your summer signings. You already have better players at the club.
But we had no real variation in midfield, no real wingers etc. Now the squad has an excellent midfield with strength in depth. That's why these transfers could prove to be very shrewd
I agree that the variety could be good for the squad. But if Kenny decides that all players bought under Hodgson are ****, then he'll probably end up selling some very decent buys.
Like the players I mentioned above. Joe Cole is far more incisive than Charlie Adam. Maxi is an exceptionally versatile midfielder who will weigh in with his share of goals. And Poulsen is an excellent defensive midfielder, who just came to Liverpool at the wrong time and got off to a bad start. I'd even have him at United, to plug our own defensive midfield gap. Unless I'm mistaken and these players were signed before Hodgson arrived?
Hodgson was just the wrong fit for Liverpool. He's far from a twat, and Konchesky apart, the players he signed are far from ****. Kenny should be able to get the best out of players who were very good before they joined Liverpool.
Poulsen is ****ing atrocious mate, his pace has gone and he's not in the mould of a Giggs, Scholes, Hyypia player that can change his game to suit his lack of pace/physical ability.
