I have just had a really funny feeling. I was watching the snooker when I had a strong feeling that Lookman had scored. I turned over to Sky Sports and he had. I turned back to the snooker and the next time I turned on to Sky Sports Reza had scored, how bizarre.
This looks the type of game where Makienok comes on and scores a header ! Stop watching the snooker bro
The worst of all worlds. Some injuries, a defeat that sends us back into a relegation spot, and a first 45 that will encourage KM to make the Fraeye appointment permanent. Wretched afternoon.
at 2-0 up i kept tweeting i'd take a draw. what is it with these 3rd rate managers and not having any tactical awareness. defend the lead, take it to the death, dont conceed straight away. awful. would have rather have been bashed 5-0 than to get your hopes up like that.
A new centre back, with championship experience, has to be the priority in January. Possibly even an older head as back up and kick Sarr out. He's absolute crap. By admission i didn't bother on Saturday, but have spoken to enough people to understand it was a typical performance by him. More interestingly was the back 4 apparently became nervous shortly after he came on - instead of building from the back and starting the counters that were so effective for the first 25 minutes, it was hoof ball with nerves kicking in. Diarra made another horrendous mistake for their first - just like Ipswich when his header out was very poor. Whilst a defensive midfielder isn't a priority, I'm concerned he can't handle the full schedule. The young Spurs lad we had last year, whilst not perfect, could be a decent option if money is a concern. Another disappointing Saturday. No surprise.
For the first 25 min on Saturday we were very good, playing a high pressing game and with some slick interplay between Reza, Vaz Te and Lookman up front. The crucial turning point IMO was the departure through head injury of Harry Lennon, although what that says about the strength of our squad when the departure of a kid so shakes us, tells its own story. Sarr was Sarr....an accident waiting to happen. Fraeye had already said on Thursday that Brighton's strength was down their side with Bruno and Solly March - only a real tactical genius would then go on to match them up against the cart horse that is Morgan Fox, FFS. In my opinion we are NOT FIT ENOUGH to play the high tempo pressing game we attempted to Saturday. Too many of our players were visibly puffing. In summary, if we carry on like this, we are absolutely f*****ed. I doubt relegation is a concern for Duchatelet and Meire though, next season's (reduced) running costs will be covered by the sale of Lookman.
If you mean the Ipswich first goal, I'm pretty sure the header out was by Sarr and then Makienok- I only remember cos I was slagging Sarr off after this!
