Well some of it is obviously that we have so many guns. I imagine if the worst thing someone could do is pull a knife we might not have as many cops around. Pretty much any place that has lots of people will have cops stationed there, such as movie theaters, malls, schools even shopping centers sometimes but always places where people have a tendency to get upset.
The British attitude is completely different. We only want the Police to be available if we need them. In fact we view Police at football matches as a negative.
Its not that different really. Its not like people actually want the cops around. If they were not actually arresting people where they are stationed, they wouldn't be there, they would be someplace else. Schools is obviously a little different but cops hang out places where they arrest people.
You've not been to A + E at Hull Royal late on a Saturday night then. I'm sure the staff would welcome some police on site. Sometimes, not always.
Someone should start a thread about the many things that are great about the USA because all these gun incidents are making Ellewoods squirm. Gun loonies please give Ellewoods a break.
Im fine, it doesnt bother me much. I dont like it, but like I have said before we have so much gun violence you get a little desensitized to it all. I would be far more worried about getting into a shoot out right in my house as we have had 6 armed robberies on my street in the last 2 weeks. People are trying to get drug money as picking season just ended and there is a lot of people who grow weed on my street. This happened in California and as such this will probably push for some gun control that will pass and be signed. The guy who will almost certainly be the next Governor of California is named Gavin Newsom. He is the current LT Governor and the former Mayor of SF. One of his platforms he is running on is that he wants background checks for purchases of ammunition that will go into a database that records those ammo purchases.

Typical family shot. Actually I find this quite a disturbing image, shocking over use of red. The reality is that for some this is as normal as standing there showing off the families collection of mobile phones. I wonder if they have the same type of problems... "Anyone seen my gun? Can you check the sofa for my magazine? Oh sorry I didn't mean to shoot you, it went off in my pocket! Look son, I know that you are upset, but you should only use your gun in school in an absolute emergency, sitting there shooting your friends in class is not allowed."

Have this family, who you wish death on, massacare anyone like that nice family who are members of the religion of peace did? Gun control was irrelevant in tecent massacare. If people want to get weapons theybwill. Pipe bombs aren't on sale but the Islamist nutters had them. France has just as strict, if not more so, than we do only difference is 260,000 armed police in France compared to 6,000 of our 122,000 police can try and dtop them whilst we would be waiting for some of ours to turn up and wonder if they should shoot them without talkingbto them in case Jezza and his mates were upset and took them to court for murder.
Leaving aside the stupidity of your post, presumably you re a member of Britain Last? I wonder if some suicide bomber or AK47 wielding maniac was in the viciniy of your family whether you would share Jezza's reluctance for the police to be allowed to shoot to kill and wait for them to massacare them before taking action or shoot them? Presumably if they saved your family's lives you would assume they were members of some right wing organisation and deserving of prosecution.
Most British families wouldn't make it to Boxing Day intact with that amount of weaponry lying around.
