Odd appointment, seeing as he has no managerial experience whatsoever, no experience of the Spanish league whatsoever...... Phil has been an assistant manager at 3 clubs, and was already at the club, and knew the league. But if history is anything to go by, Gary will completely outshine his brother and make him look inadequate in comparison
Difficult to know how he will do at Valencia, but one thing i do know, Sky will do well to replace him with someone as incisive and knowledgeable as he was about the game. The best analyst by far since Sky started covering football, in my humble opinion.
Like many I've been surprised just how good and knowledgeable Gary has been as a pundit. He's also had a great career as a player and experience coaching England. It perhaps seems early for him to get a big job but I'm confident in time that he will be a very good manager. Odd that English managers seem to be getting more of a chance in Spain then they are in England at the moment!!

I'll be sticking around as you put it until my visa arrives at the end of the month then I'm off again. Unlike you Stan I try to think before I post and I don't want to sack everybody or sell them because they are playing badly. Sometimes you have to see the bigger picture and not wear your heart on your sleeve. Ive been posting on here a lot longer than you know so I'll ignore your poor attempt of sarcasm as humour. As to where I'm moving is nowhere where you assumed but don't keep yourself awake thinking about it!
