I couldn't care less. It's better than being called a Chav, or a Mickey mouser.

I love spuds. Boiled, roasted, sauted, chipped, mashed, jacket etc, so versatile, therefore I take no offence being called a spud! In fact it makes me smile and it is a very mild nickname compared to what some of our posters call other fans <whistle>

I guess that if you can't tell your 'r's from your 'd'ick you might describe us as Spuds. But heh-ho, isn't that why they put C&A on knickers, so female Ar5ena1 fans know which way round to wear them.

    Definitely pathetic.

To think a grown man/ woman sits behind the keyboard and gets a sense of pride at feeling they've mugged a Spurs fan off by calling them a Spud is truly laughable.

Can you imagine the conversation they have with their mates:

"Oh hey, guess what, I mugged a Spurs fan off today, called them a potato!"
"Oh you bloody hero, that'll rile them right up, legendary!".

Just a generic term with no real malice attached to it, just mild belittlement.

A lot like the term 'mousers', 'mancs' or making reference to us being deluded.

Sort of means bland like a potato. Yet another London club.

I would not want to call any Spurs fan a "Yid" as that is an offensive and racist term whilst Spud is a harmless term of banter - a bit like using goon for us or chavs for Chelsea fans and dippers for Pool fans

It's a mildly pejorative term denoting something, short, squat, round and good natured, and simple. I.e. Sp*rs fans.

I believe that Spurs will never match our achievements in winning 13 league titles and 12 FA Cups, do you think Spurs will ever.
It seems the only thing Spurs are aiming for is to be above Arsenal - wow that is pathetic and is similar to the aims of Newcastle and Sunderland in that they don't care where they are as long as they above the other.
Spurs should be aiming to win the title which by definition would mean that they are above everyone! Anything else is small club mentality

  13. You've dodged my question, G4E.

Do you believe that Spurs will never finish above Arsenal? Yes, or no?

I'm surprised that they don't call the goons Spuds because they all seem to have a chip on their shoulders.

Says a fan of team that truly are the specialists in failure: can't get into top 4,can't get into CL, can't finish above Arsenal, can't finish above Liverpool, can't win the Europa league, can't win the CL, can't win League Cup, can't win FA Cup, and can't win the League.

in some ways you have to pity Spurs fans - they so wish they were Arsenal fans and have our success :)

Wow, that's rather a large chip you've got there. Would you like some sauce for it? <laugh>

Can't finish above Liverpool or get into the top 4? Done one twice in six years and the other 5 times.
Can't get into the CL? Done it. Can't win the domestic cups? Done both repeatedly. Can't win the league? Done it.
Bit of an odd comment, really.
