Being serious. Do you honestly think this guy playing the way he does will win you a PL or CL title? And do you think the next manager is going to just need to tinker to magically have you winning trophies AND playing exciting football?

I just don't see it. Maybe, just maybe this year as the league is so unstable but it will resemble Fergies last year where too many of this present team don't look consistently good enough to do it in years with quality opposition.

I fully understand why you lot love him, as you say, he was (for a time) the best you have had in years. Couple that with his obvious love of the club the city and it's people and it's natural for you to admire him.
What you must understand is that United fans (and others) when on the wum are guaranteed a defensive bite when using him as bait.
In truth I think he is a decent manager who is always good for a cup or two given enough time <ok>

So... he was tasked with spending as much money as possible on as many big names as he could find in the hopes that some poor sod can turn them into a team after he's gone?
    I could've done that.
Fergie would be spinning in his grave if he weren't still alive.

I think he could win us the league but it would be more down to other teams not performing at the moment.
We already have a squad/team more than capable of playing exciting football AND winning, that is why people are disgruntled, his style is holding us back.
Can't fault the guy for the players he is buying and promoting though, the next manager will have all the things he needs to challenge for everything.

The only "big name" he has bought is Bastion, and we got him at a reasonable price. The rest were hardly top world names (though we did have to pay a lot for some of them), he has bought a good mix of young and experienced players for all positions (except right wing). They are already a good team, they just need a change in the style to give them more freedom.

I doubt you would have attracted many of them <laugh>

    Didn't buy Falcao <ok>
Di Maria was a total let down but only cost us about 8 mil thanks to PSG so no worse than any other failed buy at any club.

See they are already touting Gnev. FFS guve the guy a chance to get into a less pressured job and keep learning the craft. One Day it sounds a good marriage but too soon and it'll go bad.

For a £6m loan fee and £285,000/week, not technically owning him is hardly an excuse <ok>

Of course it is, big teams don't worry about a fee like £6m, we paid more for Bebe and were stuck with him.
