Yes hopefully we will have them all back pretty soon but for the time been others are going to have to step up, any team which loses three key players would suffer fortunately we have better players in our squad than most other teams but these same players have to perform
Saturday, December 5th, 2015 Although there will be several Yorkshire derbies this season the visit to Elland Road is in my mind the biggest of them all. Leeds have a very poor record at home this season and it is imperative that Hull get back into a winning streak in order to keep up with the rest of the pack, Brighton, Derby, Middlesbrough and Burnley. Steve Bruce first started talking about the recent appointment of former Man United player Gary Neville as manager of Valencia. “It’s not often that a young British coach gets the chance to go and manage in Spain and it’s good to see”. He went on to say “He wouldn’t be surprised if he went on to be a success”. Steve did talk about the recent game against Manchester City saying “We couldn’t have wished for a more difficult game in the League Cup and for 80 minutes it looked like we could of done it. The score line suggests at 4 – 1 it was pretty routine stuff. Up until 80 minutes we were in with a shout, it was the best period of the game that we had had but unfortunately we just weren’t good enough” As for Saturdays game against Leeds United, “You always know when you have Leeds United away, it is going to be a difficult game, especially with it been a Yorkshire rival, so it’s all about us and how we play and how we handle it. It’s never ever easy and they have not had the best of times, they had a change of manager and it seems to be ongoing at Leeds United, they seem to be always in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. But whenever you play against them, they are a club with a huge tradition, big support, big history and so with that comes huge demands and when you play against them it’s always difficult”. Team news Abel Hernandez (hamstring) is out but Curtis Davis has a good chance. Steve confirmed it’s still too early for Dawson. Robert Snodgrass was next up to speak and he talked about what has been a long road back from injury. His recovery has very much been a team effort with support coming from the back room team at the club “The most important thing for me is to show the manager all the hard work I have been doing and try and force my way back into his plans” The Leeds game is of extra significance for Robert having scored over 35 goals for the club. “It was one of the first fixtures I looked at (Leeds) and hoped to be fit for that and it’s time to show the Hull fans that I am one of them”. Despite Robert been held in high regard at Leeds, he has no idea what sort of reception he will get at Leeds. Robert confirmed “The most important thing is to get the 3 points for Hull City. We are at the top end of the table and that’s where we want to be”. http://www.hullcityosc.com/match-report/leedsunited-press-conference/
