Back to potential transfers, Inside Futbol have linked us with Simone Zaza of Juventus again. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2015/12...ance-over-norwich-target-simone-zaza/255282/? Also, the Daily Fail has linked us with Burnley's Michael Keane, a 22 year old CB, along with a host of other clubs who are said to be interested. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
Can't beat a bit of regurgitation of old goss http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/no...for-championship-winger/?#3O9KCVEkzvJwK7R1.97
That one sounds very like 'agentspeak' trying to stir up interest. A winger is not what we need now, IMO.
Craig Noone rumours resurface. Unless Jarvis is more seriously injured than I thought - or Redmond is off somewhere, I don't see the need for another wide man. Both Murphy twins are waiting in the wings (no pun intended! ) Surely a striker and CB are far higher priorities? http://www.shoot.co.uk/bournemouth-and-norwich-linked-with-championship-winger/?
First I've heard of this - though there's as much chance of it happening as there is of finding a decent curry house in Australia!! Cameron Jerome wanted by Middlesbrough. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ameron-Jerome-is-8m-Middlesbrough-target.html
I'm not so sure it's that far fetched, we'd only let him go if we got in a replacement who AN deems an upgrade. If for example we got Afobe (Is he better or at least a better fit for AN system?) then I would think £8M + CJ wages would go a long way to funding such a move. Plus £8M is the opening gambit, an under contract player in a team with no need to sell perhaps should end up netting £10M perhaps. Or its just paper bobbins! Bah!
I think he will ultimately be an upgrade on Grabban, but I'll be amazed if Dwight Gayle isn't a Canary by January
Remember how excited we all were with RvW as an 'upgrade'. Jerome fits AN's tactical approach very well and we can't afford to gamble at the moment. There's also the fact that AN has completely dismissed the rumour. http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...n_jerome_8m_middlesbrough_exit_talk_1_4336748
I'm not saying we necessarily should sell him, and he's not a player I think we should lose personally (despite my comment above), but everyone has his price as we were told in the summer with the Bradley Johnson deal, and £8/10 million is a lot of money and represents a huge profit. I don't think he is going to be first-choice this season (especially if we buy another striker or two in January) and there are still doubts about whether he can cut it at this level so whilst I wouldn't necessarily think it's a great idea, I don't think we should write if off as being completely out of the question either.
Added to the fact that he must be pushing 30 and will be worth only a fraction of that in say 18 months time.
This could happen although I'd hope it wouldn't. As Tony says above I can see Gayle coming in in January and that would then leave us having to shift Hooper, Laffs and either Grabban or Jerome to get another top striker in to supplement Dave and Gayle. I'd prefer Cam to stay but who knows what will happen - £8m does seem a whacky amount to pay for him mind !!
