I've organised a few lunches/dinners with sports guest speakers in the past. When you've got the right audience they are brilliant. When you get a bunch of stiffs who are shocked by the language or who just aren't into sport then it's cringeworthy. The worst ever was Graham Gooch and Keith Wood speaking at an event that was largely populated by PR and marketing melts. Both of the speakers were funny, neither of them got much of a laugh. I had to do some apologising afterwards.
There's a new Spoons just opened near my Brother in law (Muswell Hill) Brooklyn Lager £3 a pint I'm looking forward to visiting.
I didn't think this warranted it's own thread but seeing as gentlemen of a certain age post in this one... Scott Weiland of The Stone Temple Pilots has croaked at the age of 48. It seems like it was probably a rock star death. I always thought they were a poor man's Pearl Jam but they contributed to a music genre that I liked. RIP, say hi to Jimmy from me.
Off to the German market in brum. For an afternoon of sausage and steiners. This after an all dayer yesterday.
Was listening to this the other day. Crayfish again for lunch, I do love the little prawn type things.
Had a healthy shake for dinner, this to offset the breakfast baguette I had this morning, which itself was to off set the six pints of ale I had last night watching the keystone cops. Can't be arsed to do anything tonight, might just have to have some form of takeaway food. It's early Christmas after all, might as well let it all go till new year. **** it.
Going for a boozey pub lunch today with with the captains past present and future of the golf club.. Trying to line myself up to be captain for 2018 season.
Why not.. Get a free years membership and get to play most golf courses in the country for nothing. That's as good a reason as any.
