I once samples a canadian's rockies and they were indeed sublime. She was Canadian French so it was all done En Francais.
You must have felt at home then. How did you do it (rental car and hotels or a rented motorhome)? Looking at this for Easter next year.
I've looked this but not in detail to be fair and the cost seemed to be fairly similar. I'd be interested to hear Obi's opinion.
Angkor Wat mate. Not all its cracked up to be. Just a load of temples. Once you.ve seen the first one you may as well head of somewhere else. Phmom phen was topper. Went to the killing fields and s21.
Okay noted. Only been to Phnom Penh on business but really enjoyed it. Lunch in the Foreign Correspondents Club overlooking the river brought back memories of the film The Killing Fields. Hoping to get back there in the New Year. Not sure Mrs will want to visit s21 and the killing fields unless there are some good shops there. Do they do any nice skull handbags?
I went in the correspondents club also. S21 and killing fields not for everyone. Went to angkor wat. Wanted to leave after the first day. I was going mental. You brought me all the way up here to look at some ****ing temples and old stones.
I can't comment on what a RV trip would be like. We flew into Calgary, hired a Ford Explorer and then stayed at hotels on the way at places like Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper. Incredible mountain scenery and some lovely hotels too. Colour of the lakes is just unreal and the trip onto the glacier is brilliant - if they still do it. We also then drove across to Whistler and Vancouver, which were also great, but some of the drive inbetween the rockies and the west coast was a bit of a **** hole. PM me of you want any details or thoughts on suggested places to go to/avoid.
I should introduce you to my wife - sound like you would get on well. Those were exactly her comments at Macchu Picchu.
