four weeks after sacking him please log in to view this image Lee Thomas-Mason for Metro.co.ukThursday 3 Dec 2015 2:18 pm Former QPR manager Chris Ramsey could be about to make a sensational return to Loftus Road just a month after he was sacked by the club. Ramsey was relieved of his duties less than four weeks ago after struggling to turn QPR’s form around in the Championship after being relegated as the bottom-placed team in the Premier League last season. QPR, who made Neil Warnock caretaker manager after Ramsey’s sacking, moved a step closer to appointing former Chelsea striker – and current Burton Albion manager – Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink when they opened negotiations yesterday. But, according to the Evening Standard, chairman Tony Fernandes is already in talks with Ramsey in a bid to reinstate him at the club as the assistant manager to Hasselbaink. 53-year-old Ramsey is still held in high regard by club officials and has a close relationship with Tony Fernandes and director of football Les Ferdinand, according to reports. http://metro.co.uk/2015/12/03/qpr-i...manager-four-weeks-after-sacking-him-5542357/
Or.... RAMSEY MAY RETURN TO QPR Neil Warnock has confirmed there’s a chance Chris Ramsey – sacked as QPR manager just last month – could return to Loftus Road in a coaching role, probably with the academy. It’s our understanding that this process is ongoing and in the meantime, QPR look set to appoint Burton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as Ramsey’s permanent successor.
Doesn't matter to me in which capacity he comes back as long as he does. It would be fantastic to keep Ramsey the coach, a role he's excellent in.
Perhaps we should check to see whether Hughes and Harry fancy a return to the club? They were about as hopeless as Ramsey!
All reports from the club seemed to suggest Ramsey was a top coach, but perhaps the step up to manager was just too much too soon. I hope he'll come back, do what he does best, and learn as much as he can so he's ready if and when a managerial opportunity comes along again.
im far from happy with the reinstatement of ramsey,if haselbank has created his own successfull team of trainers why cant he keep his own format
I'm not happy either, they were just talking about Hoilett coming back to form under Warnock, I'm sure he'll be delighted to see Ramsey back - JFH should bring his own staff in but that's probably not an option with LF taking care of his mates before the interests of the club.
I don't agree taking Ramsey back. All the good that Warnock has done will be a waste of time having Ramsey back. Keep in mind, the players didn't click with Ramsey, so why bring him back. It will water down the good vibe of having JFH appointed. I just don't see the sense in sacking someone then bringing them straight back. We need fresh ideas, not more of the same. Anyway, just my two bobs worth.
I thought I heard from somewhere the training sessions had been much better under Ramsey than they were under Redknapp. Am I remembering wrongly?
To be fair to the club this was even touted when Ramsey got the sack. There was talk about a role for him at the club but that it was up to him. Hardly a u-turn by the club. And only natural that Ramsey has had some time to digest the demotion.
ramsey is a disgrace to football he may well be a lovely bloke i accept he is a very likeable chap, but so was ray wilk, ins a very likeable bloke he is another disgrace to management im obviously underwhelmed by jfh aoppointment when you consider warnock would have definately got us to the play offs, but now jfh has been appointed im not going to rock the boat too much because if he picked warnocks team and fine tuned it by dropping hoilett and petresco and bringing in jet and austin i think we could make the play offs with jfh and im hoping and praying for another play off final this year as the 24 th of may was the best qpr day in 55 seasons for me, SO GOOD LUCK JIMMY FLOYDE HASELBANK,PLEASE TRY TO CARRY ON WARNOCKS GREAT WORK AND NEIL WARNOCK YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE JOB FOR THE WHOLE SEASON LOVE YOU NEIL HOPE YOUR WIFE RECOVERS GOD BLESS YOU MATE
Would have thought Hasselbaink would have his own men. Seems odd to me but financially probably makes sense if we'd have to pay him off anyway
I would assume that his salary isnt that much. A drop in the ocean and not a worth to spoil the teamspirit again. Ive heard that he wasnt very popular among the players.
Well, not what i have heard. Anyway he was absolutely rubbish in his job as a manager so there is no need to get him back as a coach if theres only a little doubt that he is not good for the team spirit.
Hi Daveranger, l guess the only thing l'm looking at are the points in the table and the way the players reacted to Ramsey. In just a few weeks, from all accounts, the players are playing much better. The players like Hoilett are happy again and we've taken ( as Facta has said ) ..... six points in a week. To me, it's a case of 'jobs for the boys' which l don't think is a positive for our club. Hope l'm wrong! Enjoy the weekend guys and gals, winners are grinners!
